Grunter from the Blasted lands got new shiny look and more..

I was able to grab Grunter on the beta today.

I just have a feeling something is going to happen to his Felboar skin when Cataclysm goes live... or even before that.

Here are some examples of what I mean...

Situation #1
Random Hunter: "Ahh man, people can tame Grunter but not the other Felboar skins?"
Blizzard: "Ok, we'll fix that" <makes Grunter black again>

Situation #2
Random hunter: "Whoa, Grunter has a Felboar skin"
Blizzard: <hotfixes Grunter skin and everyone who tamed him will either get to keep him as a Felboar skin, or he reverts to black> ...and then... "Felboars, which are demons, were never meant to be tamed"

Situation #3
Random hunter: "Hey everyone I tamed Grunter the rare boar in Blasted Lands. <everyone runs to BL and camps out>
Blizzard: <three days later hotfixes him where he won't attack in PvP, you can't buff him, or heal him> ...a week goes by... <Blizzard realizing that no one cares about any of that because they now have 24 other pets goes ahead and just makes tamed Grunters disappear>

..or you know... Grunter looking like that could be a known thing and maybe Blizzard will decide to start making totally unique skins for other pet familes like they did with Spirit Beasts.

It feels kind of like the Vargul Blighthound situation to me. Now I'm *hoping* that we get more demon dogs in this expansion, but even if we don't I can still see Blizzard leaving a single helboar model in for us.

But it's way to early to make any decisions based on guesses, of course.

Why would they do that? to get him away or change colour....just like all the people that where able to tame the blue spirit coyote.
I couldnt have him because no one would like to help and a few days later he wasnt tameable anymore. So if they make him get black colours again I go crazy!! And then I'm not kind Winny anymore grrrr.
First thing I do when Cata goes live is to tame him thats for sure^^.
And I think Blizz will read this forum so if they see that we are all very happy with the new Grunter...mmm maybe they decide to keep him that way

Funny thing is, Grunter is the only rare pet that I've tried to find that I never ever got to see. Camped him for a long time.. never had a whiff of him. Not really fond of that hellboar skin though.. given the choice, I'd rather go old-school with an armoured boar, assuming Blizz fixes pets in general.

In which case - tame him now and see if you have him in his new model when Cata hits

If you manage to tame him now though you might be lucky... and you'll end up with another impossible to get pet (i.e. Ghost wolf, SB "crocs")

Trying to tame Grunter on live so I can test this out. Soriid was easy to get and show everyone what happens. Grunter... not so much...

Still been trying to tame Grunter on live so I can copy him over to the beta to see how he shows up afterwards, but so far I have only seen three other rare mobs in the same area as he is. Hyena, Vulture, and Scorpid.

Do they all share a spawn time, or are they on different timers? Anyone know?
