i got the hyena and they are great pets, but since i have a wolf pet i couldnt seem to click with the hyena, they are very awsome cute pets though. when they hit 80 they are great in duengon and pvp, least that is my opinion i know i will get one when we get more stable slots.

I couldn't bring myself to level the warp stalker.

i tamed him, i even named him, i brought him around and killed a couple guys..

but i really just don't like them a single bit lol :C

* Try tanking an 80 elite with your pet
Well, i didn't really do this, but i did kill a lot of the bone guys in icecrown for the dragonhawk.
For the warpstalker, i only killed a few guys in terrokar before i couldn't deal with him anymore :C

* Level it a level or two
I DID level the dragonhawk once, through the bone guys and an instance. i didn't level the warpstalker :\

* Do a heroic
Stated above. i got put into PoS with a crappy group.
Mr. Dragon did pretty awful damage, i wasn't very happy with it lol. he was VERY pretty though (i actually went and got the pink/purple one, not the red/white one, sorry xD )
did not try with eric, the warpstalker

i stopped at the instance ;\

* Check the pet out in different lightings
Both pets looked pretty much the same in all lighting. hardly effected by the different colors of the lights

* Check out swimming and possibly levitate animations (if any)
while i Really dislike warpstalkers, i think the way they run is hilarious, and i liked watching him waddle up to me cuz he was slower.
I love the dragonhawk's movement everywhere. it's so fluent and graceful, very pretty c:

i've confirmed my dislike for warpstalkers. I will never use one, i just can't do it.
I'm glad that others appreciate them though and that they're not unused pets.
The dragonhawk, while SUPER beautiful in both it's movements and color, is just not the pet for me.
They're weak in dungeons and outside, and that's super bothersome to me ><
despite that, there might be a chance that i get one to fill up my 25 stable slots come cata.
but for now, i will not have one adventuring with me ;\


I think i'll go for another though.
in case my raptor seems to be faulty.

well, i had just done the dragon hawk, warpstalker, hyena, and i have (or recently had) a gorilla, sporebat, netherray, crocolisc, worm, raptor, and spirit beast.
the only one i don't want to even try is the bear :\

I'd still like to be given other random pets, those aren't the only pet families.
Should i just erase my whole post since it seems to be defeating the purpose?

Sorry you didn't like either the warpie or the dragonhawk enough to keep it Hopefully in Cata they really WILL sort out pet families. I can't wait to see dragonhawks, nether rays and rhinos regularly raiding!! I like warp stalkers myself, but I'm not a big fan of either of the two available skins. In fact, the only ones I think I really like are the black (Gezzerak) and the red, unimplemented Blade's Edge ones!

Here's the results of my experience with my Wind Serpent (Ehecatl). I was leveling, in Shadowmoon Valley, with my wife's Warlock who is the same level.

Try tanking an 80 elite with your pet
I was 68 at the time of my elite fight so i decided, as we were fighting him already, that Morgrorom would be his elite challenge. He was 4 levels higher than Ehecatl so I wasn't sure how well he would hold the agro, with my wife and me DPSing like crazy. He did, with very little help from me, hold agro for the whole fight.
Level it a level or two
Currently level 66 so gained 3 levels so far.
Do a heroic
Not done a heroic.
Do a battleground
Not yet.
Check the pet out in different lightings
He looks good in the couple of zones we went through.

Your Review:
This is one of the wind serpent skins I like so that was a bonus. Food was not a problem as I already carry around some Mag'har Grainbread for Slurm. I have "Count" Ungula who I havent really been to happy with so I was a little unsure of how this would go. But after playing for a little while this morning I have decided to keep my new little friend as he has done aswell as or even better than my other pets at holding agro while myself and my wife kill things. Sadly I will be letting the Count go back to the wild.
What was suprising about getting a Wind Serpent as my RPC was that, the day before, my wife was talking about taming one for her little hunter to use.

I AM glad people like them though, i'd feel bad if they were underused and nobody tamed them.

Despite not liking the class a lot personally, i DO really like the new blue skin they're adding in cata, i love blue+purple combo.
(i think all of their colorings are nice, right now, honestly)

While I REALLY liked the dragonhawk, the damage is just so low that it was hard for me to continue using him :\

i'm interested in the snakebat though, i'll have to test him out <:

generally i'd try them again, but after trying them once, you kinda get a feel for whether you'd want them or not of a different color.
