Grunter from the Blasted lands got new shiny look and more..

After 11 hours straight of camping at 7 am I called it quits and logged off. I did however spot 6 of the rare three or four of which I have SS's of. Three humanoid three beast. None of which were Grunter. I'm now on my third attempt to camp for Grunter. I've only spent this long camping Loque and strangely enough have seen him more.
I will continue my vigil tonight.

I've always wanted Grunter. Even if he ends up not turning into a Hellboar I still want him.

I decided to go after Grunter after i heard about this. i had been searching for him for 3 days across 2 servers. This morning, i log on to my first server and hear a meow(from my addon), i /tar grunter and there in front of me is his corpse, which despawned about 15 seconds after i targeted it. I know i missed it on that server so i switch over to my second server since i figured the timing would be about the same. 7 hours later, i have to go eat. I get kicked back to the character selection screen. When i get back, i hear meow. I am so excited that he is finally up. I /tar grunter and what i see made me burst out in tears. A dead grunter with a hunter standing over him. I just barely missed him 2 times in the same day by just a few seconds. Now i have to try again.

Got Grunter on one hunter this morning at about 7 AM EDT. Have another one parked there now. good thig is,i don;t have to check for a day or two. lol Bad news is, i don't have to check for a day or two. lol Good luck to all on the Grunter search.

While it would be really awesome if we were able to tame a Felboar I strongly belive they are just using that skin as a placeholder for something new. I doubt they will let us tame a demon and it makes little sense in make one tameable and not the other ones so my money is on a completely new skin

I have tamed Grunter now on the same Hunter I transfered to the Beta "Honey"aka "persephoney".
So I'm ready now for Cata to see if his skin really changes :)_

Will be very cool, but for me ......................... if the change really doesn't happen no worries. I mean yeah it will be a bummer but that's not why I tamed him.

She already transferred her hunter to beta. I think she meant she tamed him on live and is waiting to see if he'll change once we get Cata.

Still been trying to tame Grunter on live so I can copy him over to the beta to see how he shows up afterwards, but so far I have only seen three other rare mobs in the same area as he is. Hyena, Vulture, and Scorpid.

Do they all share a spawn time, or are they on different timers? Anyone know?

No - I just found Ravage, Clack and Spiteflayer all on at the same time (and for bonus points - tamed Clack and sicced him on Teremus, who was also flapping around the place).

Well I got him on Saon a few days ago at a 11:30 at night. I was looking for him for a few days when he decided to be nice and spawn for me. I am hoping to get into Cata but ill be going into cata on Sasrei so maybe ill put in Saon to but she's only lvl 66. The thing is though she has Lupos, Sorid and Grunter on her so it would be interesting to see the change. Besides by the time I get into Cata.. Ill probably be 80

You know you could copy that same character over again to the beta and see if the skin changes.

That way I can stop actively camping his spot on live JUST for that reason.

Right now a lot of these zones are ghost towns. with cata a lot more people will be out and about, so it may be harder to find and tame em then.

Actually Blasted Lands is busier than you might think at least on my servers - been camping Grunter for the past 3 days and typically log in to find a bunch of dead mobs lying around (just got him, yay), with 2-3 players buzzing around the area south of Nethergarde.

Either way, BL is gonna be a lot more popular in cata simply due to the new content (and the tameable new crab/buzzard/etc).

AKA "ROADKILL" - and Grunter's spawn point unfortunately is just about right smack on the tarmac, at least he was when I saw him...

Twila are you horde or ally on Argent Dawn???? That's my main server!!

In my hunting experience with Grunter he's got a 40 hour spawn timer. There are quests in the BL that have players killing buzzards, boars and basilisks. So that's why you're seeing roadkill so often even though the place looks deserted.
