WTB Gnome Hunter's for Pandaria

Oh I remember a topic like this... not too long ago.

However, it seems that there are some people on this forum that are very much against it, so I just sort of let the thread die down, even though (glances at my Signature and Avatar), I am VERY Pro-Gnomes as Hunters.

But, I honestly wouldn't try to pursue this topic anymore on this forum, or any forum even. People just don't like gnomes, and don't realize that lore can and has been, or even HAS TO BE retconned in some situations, and there is nothing stopping blizzard from doing it again, given that there are NUMEROUS explanation for how Gnomes could become hunters, and then people are like "But X, Y and Z make no sense, since they don't A, B OR C!!!1!1!!. Even though, A B and C are all irrelevant to X Y and Z.

But gnomes aren't even close to the class-cap! Look at Draenei, humans and belves!

More than just that. As I said earlier, dwarves and trolls exceed the cap at 8. The cap is 7, however. Gnomes have 6, everyone else, come Cata, should get 7. The reason draenei don't get new classes is the same for the gnomes, Warlocks and rogues (for draenei) and hunters and paladins (gnomes.) just don't seem like the class that makes the most sense.

YES. you can justify it. Yes, you can change the lore. But in Blizzard's mind, that's not their head priority. They're trying to get us to slay huge frakking dragons, not worry about whether or not draenei can be summoning demons, or gnomes taming beasts.

In a few expansions however, there may be a chance gnomes will get hunters, and draenei warlocks. But not this one.

Why don't they make Gnome hunters? Come cata all other classes can be hunters. Its not fair. I love the gnomes. They could just make all the pets act like Baby Spice was sprinkled on them or something.

I mean if a Gnome can tank Ragnaros or duel wield the Warglaives of Azzinoth (mispell) they should be able to tame pets.

And why not? Belf hunters are rogues with bows. Orc and troll hunters are beastmasters, think warriors with pets. No ranged weaponry there. The only real "hunters" are Dwarves, nelves and tauren. Making the gnomish ranged warriors into hunters wouldn't be a very long stretch in comparison with what we've already seen.

Besides, imagine how awesome a gnome would look next to a bear.

I don't hate gnomes but I find them to be a tad annoying. There so small it makes it's harder to target the buggers in pvp. The female's are kinda cute though.

When I'm on one of my hordies, I feel the same way. There is however the tab key for that purpose. ;)

I agree hunters have been spread to every other race in the game, they are the race with the least classes. Gnomes need more classes to become what people would call 'more' fun. People usually play races with alot of classes so the gnomes were at a disadvantage. I always liked the thought of gnome hunters because if anything they could just ride their pets die-hard into battle with their rifle and kick a**. I think their should be gnome hunters because then I would role me a gnome [although I already have a gnome rogue] hunter because they would be so cool, and PVP would just be to fun when you can find our pets but not us XD. So I agree, gnome hunters should be made because they have lived with the dwarfs so long, I mean come on they learn how to be priests from them but not hunters?

Would depend what you call fun tho. Most people have fun with Warlocks, Deathknights, Warriors and Rogues. They also have mages and now, priests.


Besides maybe it's not that their small that blizzard won't make them into hunters. Maybe it's the fact there's something wrong with them, preventing them from forming any bond with any real animal that's not a vanity pet, as shown by the fact they made their own mounts over attempting to tame a small species of animal to ride about.

You could always modelhack a normal horse to become smaller...

And as for the mounts, well, there isn't a lot of small animals that are even remotely mount-like in Dun Morogh, 'cept for boars, and for some reason I can't picture a gnome riding a boar. It seems wrong. For them, the mechastrider is the only real option, unless they intend to ride on rams like the dwarves, and obviously the devs didn't want that. And gnomes have been stated as social and friendly everywhere, most have just considered it pointless to try to befriend animals, because, guess what. There aren't a lot of animals where they live, underground. Obviously, some gnomes are able to befriend animals, like NPC Breanni in Dala, and the gnomish hunters could in that case be the individuals that have found the point in befriending animals as well. But most hunters in WoW don't have a lore reason for pets. Basically just nelves, orcs and trolls. And dwarves, to a lesser extent.

Uh no, I'm not going to possibly be banned for life from my wow account because I model hacked over a horse <.<

And as I said, Blizzard could have reasons for not wanting gnomes to get hunters. Now atleast. And they might be having something else for gnomes for later releases. Hell there might be a new hero class that gnomes could be party to.

-Agree. I think a Gnome Hunter would make more sense than a Priest. Gaining faith for a tinker society I would guess would be a bit harder than learning how to use a gun. And if a gnome can figure out how to tank something like Ragnaros (guild tank was a gnome in Vanilla) you'd think they could muster up something to tame animals.

A lot of it for a gnome tanking stuff like Ragnaros is game mechanics. In lore, resurrection is an extremely difficult, hard to do, rare thing. In game, only costs some mana. There just comes a point where game mechanics =/= lore. So with stuff like that, it just isn't too valid an argument. again, I think we may see gnome hunters eventually, but as of now, it's not going to happen. They've already thrown in troll and dwarf warlocks in pretty late, I don't think they'd do it again.

Because Troll have Voodoo and Dwarves tend to have double vision due to drinking.

Trolls have the racial trait "bow specialization", and in Warcraft III, Trolls were mostly ranged units (i.e. axethrowers). I can't recall anything in lore saying that Troll hunters wouldn't use bows.

As for orcs, the only real lore example we have is Rexxar, who isn't a typical orc anyway, being half ogre.

Anyway, I kind of resent anyone saying that Orcs and Trolls aren't "real" hunters. With Trolls' bow specialization and extra damage to beasts, and Orcs' Command racial ability (pets do 5% more damage), I always thought of those two as being ideal Hunter races.

The beastmaster class, however,is a warrior with pets. Not just Rexxar, in other words.

I was gonna say what if gnomes were hunters but had robot animals for pets due to their engineering but that wouldn't be the same experience as having real animals.

THat would be neat, but they just wouldn't have the same variety as real hunters. That, and I'm pretty sure it'd take a lot of coding and reskinning. Otherwise, it'd likely work.
