Uldum from the outside *spoilers* Edit: and inside!

Unread post by Mindsprocket »

Total Biscuit has put up a nice video about Uldum from the outside (can't get into the zone yet because it's not finished).

Here it is: Cataclysm Beta - Uldum from the outside

It looks real good so far :D

Edit: Total Biscuit has snuck into the still closed zone of Uldum and it's awesome! We even see some fully fledged cat people and some half animated camels!

Edit #2: Since the video has not been taken down for three days and TB is still putting out new videos (so not banned from the beta) I guess Blizz is alright with it, so I put the link here afterall: Cataclysm Beta - Inside Uldum

I think that zone will turn out to be quite nice. Also, they've updated cloud effects, should be awesome.

Titan cloaking device... :/
As if they didn't get Sci-Fi-ey enough with the Draenei...

Aww he committed toon-icide for our sake! I love how he handled getting down from the cliff though!

The zone looks super neat, and I'm really excited about that new race!!!!!!! :D

Technically there's a Stargate in some ogre hovel in Hyjal. It's got the shape, the glowy runes, it looks pretty much exactly like an inactive Stargate....

It's not MENTIONED as such, but yes. It looks like a Stargate.

You know, one thing I like about WoW is that it is so many things to so many people. Whatever your fandom, as long as it can be hyphenated with fantasy, it can be there. (Saturo-disclaimer: Almost.) I really don't mind the whole technology aspect of the titans, I don't mind the steampunk of the goblins and gnomes, I don't mind the knights-in-shining-armor sense to the humans, etc. etc. etc. It adds variety and allows the game to resonate with a much broader spectrum of people. :) Brilliant design, if you ask me. I'm fairly certain it's one reason WoW is so big. It's not just one thing.

Indeed, I'm not against the various elements of Sci-Fi and fantasy they're using, but really... Titan cloaking devices... AS if CoT and interdimensional spaceships wasn't enough. Let's see, that's four Sci-Fi elements just there. Spaceships, alternate dimensions, invisibility and time travel. A bit much for a single game, seems a bit cliché to me. Should be fun to see the lore behind it tough! :)

Also, stargates next to world trees... I bet the next expansion will be World of Warcraft : Atlantis...

I think so. I really look forward to it. I'll be approaching it the same way I do anything in WoW; with an open mind and a complete suspension of disbelief. ;)

Time to take a pic for the old scrap book before the Cloaking Device gets destroyed.

Indeed. I wouldn't oppose of something like a "Gou'Ald" snake or something in the proximity of the gate. xD

*bump*

I thought editing the OP would bump the thread, but it didn't, so I do it this way.

He's in Stormwind. Actually, pretty much all NPCs for PvP stuff alliance side in the little house near SI:7 are named after Stargate characters. =P
