It might do things to certain [untameable] pets we just found out about and everyone went out and tamed on live... or it might "fix" certain other pets from merely changing skins from live to Cataclysm...

Aaaw! It means I'll have to go out and retame Nether! Nooo! I rather like running with him....Not to mention, my cobra, Grunter, the various pets a premade starts out with.....Oh well. I'm still pretty miffed about redownloading everything, too. We'll see. It's Beta, so you can't be surprised...Or too upset.

What pets does your premade start with? o.0

My Premade started out with Humar, Shatter Hand wolf, Skoll, red and black spider, and Mazz. I got rid of Skoll (I don't really like the skin that much.), spider, Mazz, but kept the other two.

However, I don't know if all hunters get these, or if they get same family, different skins (varies) or it's just a random selection that is totally different from premade to premade.

Yeah, I had Skoll for a bit, but I really don't like him. I much rather prefer my spiky green devilsaur. >:)

The ones I actually liked aren't hard to get, but it's mildly irksome to wander back out there, find them, tame them, and whatnot. At least my warpstalker will be easier now that I have the stupid underwater mount.

Just spotted this post on MMO is this going to wipe all pets that are stabled aswell? if so were does that leave us with tamed spirit beasts? i have skoll,gondria,loque and really dont fancy having to farm them again.

Well, if it doesn't fix them, then at least it will get rid of some of the untameable Sorriid models running around on beta... but that means mine will be gone too unless I just copy my hunter over again.

I am really hoping that this wipe will fix the character select bug somehow and let me log back onto my premade Orc hunter (or at least copy my live Orc over) so I can test a L.80+ hunter further instead of doing odd things with my 71 hunter.

This is only on BETA servers, not live. You'll just be stuck (unless you do retame) with none of them in beta, unless you copy the guy over again from live.

It will be interesting to see if new character copied characters with Soriid & Grunter still work "as expected" on the beta after this pet-wipe has occured.

*Sighs* Yeah, I know. But that still annoys me. I want to test beta with MY pets, but all of my pets are about to go kaput. Which is going to mean a run down to Un'Goro, an AV, a run to Blades Edge in Outlands, and some searching up in Northrend if I want to keep testing my favorites.

But on the up side, I THINK that might mean that this is the patch that integrates 100% pet scaling. At the very least, it'll probably add in masteries.

This is a bummer and a hassle yes but what will be the difference between now and when Cata goes live anyway? You still lose everything including the pets.

But yes it's horrible that they're doing this.

Why do people always do stuff like this?

I, personally, couldn't care less if MY BETA PETS ARE WIPED, but don't be like, "It's a beta... things disappear and your test of the beta shouldn't be about fun" I can still beta test with any other pet I tame... that wasn't my point in starting this thread.

I posted this saying that this MIGHT be a bad thing past the beta point and all the way into the live game when Cataclysm launches IF it affects some of the pets that some of us have been taming on live so we can have a unique pet when Cataclysm hits.

I apologize for sounding like a jerk, but whenever you post something/anything negative about the beta there seems to always be someone that has to make sure that we know what a beta is and that it could be buggy... well, no crap, really?

I doubt it. It actually might be Blizzard's intent on doing this so every hunter on the beta has to tame pets from the beta... and Warlock pets are just collateral damage.

I am not too worried about it though. I actually have two active accounts right now and 2-3 non-active accounts. I know I still have several Character Copies I can use (I get 5 per active accounts) and 5 premades per active account. I am unsure if I can actually use the non-active accounts to do the same thing... considering I think I can actually use my second account as the "character copy" startup process and then choose a character from my first account.
