while mounted

After all, they are intelligent beings.

Just a random thought.

It would certainly be neat, and it would give me a reason to use my Netherdrake again.

...I can just imagine the conversations a proto-drake would try to have...

I also exist on DeviantArt.

I don't think Protodrakes share the intelligence that their kin has. I don't even view them as dragons, more like T-rexes with wings.

Heh, same, but it would be fun to know how they think.

I wish the drakes did make comments or something. That would be awesome.

I too never really considered Protodrakes near as sentient as the other dragons.

Problem:
You would need hundreds and hundreds of comments from your mount to not make them be repeated all the time and bore the sh*t out of you.

Solution:
Dragons keep their mouths shut.

;)

And, even if they did, they could still get annoying.

Besides. I'd like to be able to invent my mounts' personality myself.

well if there's an addon that lets you interact with non-combat pets and one that let's your pets talk to you then there could be an addon that lets your mounts talk to you

I think this is really the main reason it wouldn't work. I did that quest in Dragonblight from Chromie with the hourglass, and I got offended at the persona they gave my "past self"... I mean, she was like some kind of hick! "Oh golly, thar's a dragon gosh durnit!" :x Not the personality of my beautiful tauren kitty at all!!! :(

Stuff like that comes dangerously close to RPing for the players.

Yup, future me for Taigi was a real jerk. "THAT'S how you attack? No wonder I took up drinking!"

But Taigi is a pretty sweet, quiet little tauren. Tch.

I often imagine conversations with my drake-mounts, though. Especially my blue one from Occulus; he's an irritable sucker, but has grudgingly come to accept me as a companion. Hehe.

I think Blizzard has kind of left it up to the players to determine the personalities of their dragon mounts. After all, I wouldn't be terribly happy if they suddenly decided for me that my death knight's red drake, Kashet, was a raging witch when I have seen her personality as nothing of the sort. I have a feeling a lot of players would feel the same way. So they left it up to us.

Here there be dragons... http://dragcave.net/user/Tahlian

And here there be more dragons, too...http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=lair&id=22415

Not in my mind. Because dragons are sentient, I think it's them choosing to join and carry the adventurer all over. It's voluntary.

For example, for Azunara, Kozridormu the bronze drake joined her because she saved him from the Infinites, and because she has an interesting future, and he wants to see how it plays out. (Interesting future = More saving of Azeroth. :P)

Azrenarku, Azu's Nether drake, was an egg that Azunara first saved when she helped the Netherwing. When it hatched it joined her, and allowed Kozri to accelrate its growth to help Azunara out.

Talastrasz, Firewing's red drake, joined her because the pair were a great team, protecting Wyrmrest. They couldn't separate, so he left the temple to join her.

I kindof liked the way future Sat acted...
"No wonder I turned to drinking..."
"Oh, and get some better armor:"

Just the way I RP her, condescending, megalomaniac and overall evil. In fact, for a while I tried to avoid all quests that included helping or saving the innocent... It worked for a while.

The Future Azu was in no way like real Azu. Azu is very innocent, comical, strange, and very easily manipulated, and very talkative. She can be darker, and will happily take revenge or kill as needed, but in general, very innocent. Future Azu....said nothing.

Just cos they are sentient beings does not mean they choose to be your mount or that being a mount is voluntary for them. I can't see a black drake or twilight or blue one helpng an adventurer much seeing as what there flight are like now. really i think drakes have more important things to do then carry us around XD like doing their jobs and such.

I'd really like there to be an addon that did this. Maybe something along the lines of petemote, but with mounts? I feel like that would be more feasible than Blizz putting the personalities in.

That way, others could see the emotes, and they would be different for everyone (theoretically).
