You can do that quest on horde as it has nothing to do with sharpbeack. If i remmber right you get the quest from a bottle of spider venom and then take it to a troll and he goes "omg its the spider gods mon!".

She is flagged as tameable, but not 100% sure if she can be tamed, due ot the fact NPCs are beating up on her...guess you gotta out aggro em before the tame! Would of tested, but am level 34 :c

Yeah, I know it has nothing to do with Sharpbeak. But they're in Hinterlands, my favorite zone. (I love the gryphons.) Hence why it was mentioned.

Hehe, Terokkarantula is awesome when it gets the pet size glitch. I saw someone in Orgrimmar with him once. I knew it was him because for a moment the spider was practically the size of the entire Valley of Honor. xD

I like that model, but god the sound they make.. It's way too loud. At least the Zarakh one does.
But I still prefer the Naraxis one. Had mine for 5 years, and never getting rid of it.

Shadra is tameable - I threw Serpent Sting and Distracting Shot on it and then started the tame. I didn't lose aggro on it even with all the Forsaken attempting to do damage to her. (I was level 60)

However after doing so and abandoning the quest - you cannot take the quest again. The NPC is acting as if Shadra is still fighting - therefore, if you tame Shadra it'll break the quest until a GM fixes it or the server is reset.

Also I noticed that after taming Shadra and ending up with the "unknown" named pet she appeared in the second pet slot (I had no other active pets at the time) and I couldn't "whistle" for her to come out. I went to the stable master and moved her to the top and all was fine.

Hopefully this will get fixed as opposed to Blizzard making her untameable.

Just an update - there is an altar near the water in the same area. This altar has the same quest and can summon Shadra again.

After killing Shadra (and abandoning the quest) the NPC once again had the quest option.
Strange that there's two ways of starting the same quest.

So at least I didn't bug it out permanently
