Really hoping for the "new wolf/ghostly wolf" option. Maybe they are being clever...used the switch to a known skin to alert people something was coming, but keep us guessing as to what....and maybe the brown coyote is a ploy to get people to release them so that whatever they're putting in comes as more of a surprise? Who knows...

I've edited the OP. It now also asks...

Beta Testers, PLEASE keep an eye out for Lupos & Death Howl. Let us know if they change from brown coyotes--and tell us what they become!

Greetings,

I've been reading this forum for a time, but I just registered here to say, that my tamed Death Howl looks exactly the same in Cataclysm beta than in live.

Hmm, interesting. I suppose that means they put different ID numbers on the new coyote skinned ones?

I've copied my my BE hunter who uses Lupos as her main pet over into Cata beta. So if he changes from from his current mangy coyote model, I'll let everyone know.
(Bleh, why'd they pick that model? I've never liked that model.)

This is interesting indeed. If Skaadi's Lupos doesn't change either, then I'm inclined to say that Blizzard IS listening to us...and that this is actually a positive sign for the silithid tamers, as the silithids were NOT changed in this build.

I still don't agree with them changing those worg models to the coyote, if that is indeed their final form, but if they're going to cater to the needs of the hunters who have had them tamed for years, then I'm personally not going to complain.

yeah i got to agree it would be nice if they didnt change them i mean their names suit the model they have now, i could see if they made them more... like ghostly i guess you could say but... not a brown coyote. and i think veph might have a point maybe they changed the npc # and they wont change if you have em already.. who knows... who knows

I seriously doubt that they will STAY brown coyotes. I think they'll wind up something ghostly, and Blizz doesn't want the result to be hunter's pets, so they're putting something new and untameable in their place--hence the NPC ID change, I am guessing.

But keep us updated, please. If it does turn out that there's DEFINITELY going to be no real change, I will grab Haaka instead of my Death Howl, and replace Death Howl with Ghost Howl come Cata.

Edit: btw, baelyrn, thanks a ton for letting us know that :)
