Then later- Karma repayed me as the staff and the rogue belt dropped and the group let me have both. The group was wonderful too.

Yeah but see, I passed, then when I said that, the other two passed too. The healer waited until the druid needed, before he needed on the stave too [he was a drood also just, why I'm so amazed such a face roll healer class imo for most dungeons was .. that retarded].Kalliope wrote:This is the sort of thing I love doing for helpful pugs. Though yeah I have also have people kind enough to do that for me, when a blatant ninja is rolling around all lackadasical. It is really really win.
Re: Crappy Groups

My Hun, his friend and I did a random and got Gundrak. Hun was tanking for us (and I was healing) but he didn't know the instance. We were chatting in guild and I was explaining to him that I liked the snakes from the first room killed because of all those little health bars. After they were all dead he ran ahead and didn't see the boss. I was telling him in guild that we needed to go back for a boss that was skipped but the lock in the group decided to run back and dot the boss up.
Well I was healing the lock tank and the main tank and was ok with that but the lock started being a jerk. Yelling at Hun about how he was in here for loot and experience, NOT for skipping bosses. I let him die for that. ((I understand that he might have had a valid fear of skipping but being snarky and insulting was grounds for me skipping his heals)) I told him that if he thought a moment before going all e-rage on the tank that it was Gundrak and we needed the alters behind the bosses, he could have politely pointed out that a boss needed to die before going further. I also told him in whispers that the tank had never been there. I was explaining things to him in guild and that he could chillax. I let him run back so he had time to read what I typed. The guy was still being a jerk during the run so he died some more.

Hun came out later and thanked me for being an e-thug and sticking up for him.

I've had: Healers that don't heal - and then we wipe on first mobs (healer was a cloth pally) [Happened in Utgrade Keep]
* Idiot tanks that run ahead with the healer, while the newest group member runs wrong way, aggros mobs, and me and other DPS (priest) keep getting rooted, while we yell for help, and tank screams at us for not following. <.<' [In Maradon (orange), can't spell]
* Plus just a bunch of jerks/ ninjas, whatnot.

Re: Crappy Groups
I could only do so much dps, seeing I was burning mana faster than you'd believe trying to keep my pet alive. Almost as fast as the tank was losing aggro. Which is why my pet needed to live. At that point, I was glad I'd brought the worm. He bought us a few seconds longer. The healer didn't think she should have to heal my pet. "cant u heel pet?" "Yes, but it's a rather weak HoT...if that is a problem, I'll gladly leave." Why didn't they just kick me out???? Then, the guy who knew the "shortcut"...but not well enough to actually do it right, ensuring we went down screaming in a pile of ugly undead bugs, while the tank stared vaguely off into space. Which, apparently was because he found donuts. I hope they were good, cause after 5 minutes of waiting for him, the group kicked him out. Then, the healer apparently commited suicide. Not that I blame her.
After replacing the tank, we managed to limp thru and actually finished it. Somehow. We wiped 3 times, twice on trash.

Teigan you have a nice flare for story telling, I pictured your hunter reaching out of the top of a bug dog pile as I read that!
Re: Crappy Groups
When I was in BRD with some folks, we did well with the mobs and nobody wiped. However, by the time we finished a batch of dwarves not far from the large lava giant boss, almost everyone left the group all of a sudden. I regrettably left the group, too, assuming the rest were gonna bail out because of the other folks' stupidity. I could've stuck with the warlock and we would've qued again together. Yet, when I qued back into BRD, two of them I knew before were back. The lock didn't say anything when I apologized for leaving the last group.

Tank: Shaman, stop doing that!
Shaman: Quicker.
*Shaman pulls*
Me: Shaman, do you think you could do a better job tanking?
Shaman: No, shamans can't tank, tard.
Me: Then let the tank do his job.
Shaman: Shut up.
Me: You shut up.
Tank: You obviously can't handle criticism, shaman.
After that he shut up. Kind of. The tank told me the shaman started whispering him instead.

Re: Crappy Groups
So I'm in Icecrown, at the Tournament, doing dalies. I pick up the quests and make the usual call in General chat for a group for Chillmaw and Citadel. Instead of my usual two responses (either "I'll go" from others, or just silence), a person instead responds in channel, "I'm pretty sure you can solo both of those." I don't know how it was meant, but I read it as pretty elitist and condescending, and it really annoyed me. Furthermore, I got no responses after that.
Silinrul is almost to the point when she can solo Chillmaw, but my tank pet is still 79 and I'm still practicing managing mobs, so I don't think I could quite do it yet. I have duo'd Chilly a few times with people, so I know I'm getting closer, but still. That stung. And I can solo most mobs at Citadel, but those Commanders are a pain in the butt, it's just easier to have people with you.
Thankfully, when I finally gave up and started doing some other dalies for the tournie, a nice Druid whispered me and said she'd help me if I still hadn't found a group. And just as we were about to start Chilly two more paladins showed up and asked if they could group too, so we put that dragon down pretty quick and finished off Citadel quickly too. I guess it just goes to show that for every jerk there's a nice person in the game.

I have been guilty of grumping at classes (like dks) perfectly capable of soloing Chillmaw without issues myself, but I don't talk to hunters like that. It's too messy a venture for us more times than not. >_< And agreed wholeheartedly about commanders being easier with help.

Re: Crappy Groups
I'll keep the DPS pet thing in mind, though, Kalli. The other day I duo'd Chilly with a dps warrior and my hyena Jia actually held aggro on Chillmaw for the last half of the fight while the warrior gathered up the three cultists. I had to spam healing like woah on him, but we managed in the end. If it was JUST Chillmaw, I think I could probably handle it even now, but it's the cultists that bother me really.

Honestly, I'd just put that idiot on ignore. That way you won't have to worry about getting grouped with him and you won't see it when he snarks in /1. /relief.

Re: Crappy Groups
Exactly! I wouldn't assume a hunter could, not knowing their gear level. A dk with army of the dead probably could, though.Sarayana wrote:I just don't think it's reasonable to assume a person is at a level (gear-wise) where they can solo Chillmaw. Sure, most of us have mains that are well geared by now, but some still don't, and my alts certainly don't have the gear.

Re: Crappy Groups
Level 76, Drak'Tharon Keep.
Tank 1: pulls one group, nearly dies. We inspect - he has no +def. gear and is not using frost presence. Ask him to turn it on, and he quite group.
Tank 2: Pulls one group, says "oops, gtg", leaves as soon as last mob is dead.
Tank 3: Enters, we say "lol, third tank". His reply is "I'm not staying long either." We assume it's a joke. 2 pulls later, he levels up and says "K, bye." and drops group. Apparently he was just trying to ding so he could re-list for another dungeon he actually wanted.
Tank 4: Bear in mind, we're not on the first boss yet, have waited ~8-10 mins per tank so far. Tank joins, seems nice. We fight the first boss (the one at the top of the stairs). All goes fine. Approach second boss. Tank says "I hope xxx item drops." We kill the boss and xxx item does not drop. Tank quits group.
Tank 5: Nice guy, we finish the instance.
What a pain!

Re: Crappy Groups

EDIT: Just had MY crappy group. Tried to do one random; it randoms me into Heroic Old Kingdom. Okay, fine. Hate this instance but it's 5 badges so whoo.
One dps leaves AS SOON AS we get into the instance. Apparently he didn't' like it either.
We get another one easily enough and plow through two trash pulls. Then we try to go through the first tunnel to the section of pulls just on the other side. The healer and myself are farther behind the tank than the others 'cause we stopped to loot, and both of us pick up spider aggro from the spiders on the side of the stairs. Unfortunately the tank is already way far away and swarmed with mobs from a bad pull. We wipe.
One dps leaves instantly--the same guy we recruited to replace our first one. Healer leaves a second later. Final dps and tank drop group a second after that leaving me all alone in the instance. Sigh.
Worst part is I thought it was going to go well because everybody was laughing and joking together and stuff.
Meh, not even gonna bother trying to do my random now, I just don't care today >>;

Re: Crappy Groups
It seems of late every time I try to do an instance, something terrible goes wrong. I haven't done any instances for the past few days, but today I was feeling pretty good, so I was like, "what the heck...I'll do a random, why not?"
Random comes up Gundrak. Cool. Haven't been there in a while but it's 5 whole badges, so awesome.
Almost immediately I start getting a bad feeling about this group. The tank isn't holding aggro terribly well--he's doing a mostly good job, but I have to throw Misdirect on him even for trash mobs, let alone when I'm unloading everything I've got. We wipe on Sladran because the healer's getting attacked constantly by snakes. I try to take care of those for him and stop attacking the boss (keep in mind I'm the top dps at somewhere between 2600-2900 depending on the pull, but that doesn't do much good if the healer is dead, 'cause my dps is 0 when I'm dead too). Doesn't work. Healer goes down, tank goes down, we wipe. We run back. It seems like the group isn't terribly familiar with the fight, so I suggest kiting Sladran up the stairs instead, to protect against snake attacks and wraps. They insist that he's just 'glitchy' and try him again. This time I only sic my pet on the snakes attacking the healer, and pretty much unload everything I have at Sladran, because I can tell everybody's gonna go down in a sec. Poison nova hits, Sladran goes down, everybody dies a second later. Fine, whatever. He's dead.
I figure it's just a problem boss, but then we move on to where the living mojos and the golems are. The tank manages to pull nearly EVERYTHING in that room at once. Which he is really not good enough to do, because he's not holding aggro. I end up blowing my Beast Within and Kill Command and Rapid Fire cooldowns (things I wanted to save for the boss RIGHT AFTER) to try and keep everybody alive. I also end up throwing down traps when things inevitably start coming after the healer to try and buy him a few seconds. We almost do it, but then the tank dies, and things swarm for me. I didn't realize the tank was down (figured he just lost aggro again) and FD....and the mobs immediately redirect to he healer, the only guy left. Ocrap. I try to sic my pet on him, which works for about half a second, but things redirect to me again and I die. Healer goes down a moment later. Sigh.
I'm stupidly patient, and I want my freaking badges, so I run back again. We try the boss. Now, I'm the only ranged attacker in the team; our other two dps consist of a DK and a rogue. The rogue I think knew what he was doing, but the DK and the tank are both standing in the purple puddles of inevitable DEATH. Unsurprisingly, we wipe. Again. At this point I'm getting REALLY fed up, but I figure, okay...these guys didn't seem to know the last fight well, maybe they're just new to the instance. So I say, "Don't stand in the purple

Healer agrees with me. "Yeah

DK: "It appears everywhere."
Me: "He throws it at you, just move out of the way."
DK: "Soon there is no place to stand lol"
Me: "If you stand in it you're dead for sure."
Apparently they didn't listen. The rogue drops group. We get a kitty druid who seemed fairly nice. Try the boss AGAIN. We wipe...AGAIN. Healer dies first, for who knows what reason. As soon as he dies, he drops group. Tank goes a second later. Kitty druid drops group before even kicking the bucket. The boss gloms on to ME. My white devilsaur makes a valiant attempt to intervene while I make a break for it, but she, too, dies, and I follow a second later. And now I'm REALLY fed up, and finally drop group.
It's just...ugh. Every time, EVERY time, I work up the motivation or the "courage" to do a stupid instance, something like this happens. For like the past week or two. It's incredibly frustrating ><
By the way...I completely repaired ALL my gear before going there. At the end, my gun's durability (which I usually measure by) was 13/75. From being fully functional. Just. UGH.
