according to this video by totalbiscuit the wary mastiffs of stormglen stick around in the phased gilneas that all people can visit so yay

yes they are nuetral to worgen so they are nuetral to all races i assume

It would make sense. I'm sure they wouldn't make an entirely new beast sub-family and only have it available to one race of hunters...

True, it doesn't seem likely, but you never know.

For example, that gorgeous tiger-skin that the starting Night Elf Hunters get is the only one. None of those beauties for the Horde.

these ones change between all known mastiff colors so dont get your hopes up for a pure black one

(The following is what I have seen in the beta since the last patch)

First of all, there is no barricade on the Greymane Wall anymore... you (any race) can enter and exit that area.

On the north side of the wall (Silverpine side) there is a marshy area with the new crocs.

On the south side of the wall is where you find the white foxes and some mastiffs. Anyone can tame the white foxes here since they are neutral to all races... BUT... the Mastiffs are neutral to Alliance and red (at war) with Horde, AND are untameable by both factions... you can't even use Beast Lore on them.

I did not venture further into Gilneas to see if there were other mastiffs lurking around.

I, however, was able to get a "Bullmastiff" tamed on my Orc. They are located north of Andorhall (sp?) in WPL chasing foxes and eating them. What is funny is they really don't "eat" them on the beta yet... I am guessing the mastiff should show the fox in its mouth for a couple of seconds but instead it wears the fox on its head til it despawns.

Been flying around for some time now, still no sign of any dogs except the non-tameables by the white fox's, so I tamed one of them just because

And I sincerely doubt it'll remain that way. We just haven't seen where they will put the tameable ones yet.

You have also tameable mastiffs in the eastern plaguelands near Darrowshire.
They are the pet of the human hunters who hunt the foxes in that area.

Not seen any in EPL...seen them on a farm in WPL, untameable for Alliance as they're friendly NPCs

I have a feeling the ones in (Ruins of) Gilneas are "Gilnean Mastiff" but are not tameable currently.

The mastiffs just south of the Greymane Wall in the Ruins of Gilneas are Gilnean Hounds. They are not currently labeled as anything but they do show up under Track Humanoids. I strongly suspect that this is a bug and they will end up being beasts.

I could have sworn I did a trip through Stormglen last week, but I'll see if I can get back through there today. Assuming I can log in today.
