Mine occurred recently, with the pet challenge thread. Silinrul was challenged to go tame a plagued swine from EPL.

Now, Sil has needed a tenacity pet for a while. I tried a worm, which I liked, and he sorta clicked. I'd LOOKED at boars before, but boars just didn't seem to match my night elf, and if she DID pick a boar it would have been a brighter color. Certainly not the plagued swine, which (while cool looking) was a bit drab and sickly for her tastes.

But lo and behold, as soon as I tamed one of these piggies, we just hit it off. I took Dhaundax for a run through Strathholme, since it was right there, and he held aggro like a champ and worked very hard to help me get through there with minimum difficulties. He's a real workhorse when he needs to be. But when we take a break and just hang out around Dalaran or whatever, he has no problem being friendly, cheering me up with all his running in circles and wagging his little butt in the air.

It was the LAST pet I would have expected to match Silinrul, but I don't think he's going anywhere. He's got a stable slot now XD

Takk the Leaper is mine. I tamed him at level 20, and used him while leveling all the way to 80. I'd always enjoyed raptor pets, and when I'd seen the gray-blue skin online, I decided to try and get him.
It was kinda funny because he killed me a couple times when I'd tried to tame him, so I asked for advice over Barrens chat, I surprisingly didn't get any stupid replies either. Someone suggested I used my freezing trap. Being a noob hunter I didn't have it trained yet so I quickly ran to Orgrimmar, trained it, and ran back to try again.
Froze him and tamed him and cheered.

Sadly, now that I'm 80, he rarely ever sees the light of day, but I just can't bring myself to release him, as I've had him longer then any of my other pets :P

It happened so unexpectedly with Uhk’loc the white gorilla. I have been playing around, looking for a new tenacity pet that I can have fun with. I also like to get the rares, so I decided I would try for Uhk’loc. Was lucky enough that he was up, and that no one had killed him yet on my first run to camp him. Well… I would have never believed that I would like him so much. He seems to be always watching my back, threatening anyone coming close with a chest pound, or literally standing on or over me. He’s decent in the BG’s, and a good tank for questing with.

He won my heart though last night when I was trying to do the Skorn quests against the Vykul. He was doing fairly well in keeping me alive, but in one instance, they just spawned back all around us and there was just too many to take on. Around and around we went, me trying to stay alive, him trying to get them off me, but in the end, I did not survive. When I ran back to my body, I could see that we took down 6 of them. I was impressed that I survived that long.. but the best part was to come. I revived and got my health and mana back up, and recalled Uhk’loc back. I would say he was one pissed Gorilla. For the next several attacks, he would leap at the targets just like the DK ghouls and the Shaman’s spirit wolves would do. He was doing the same stun/damage as a charge and as long as I was in charge range, he would leap. I have never seen him do that before. I also know that it’s my imagination, but he seemed to hold the agro longer and pummel them hard. He was trying hard to not let them get close to me. I survived through the rest of that quest line. (whew, was glad to get out of there).
So, he’s won a place in my stable.

mine would have to be Blizzy the crag stalker :D it was on my old blood elf hunter. when she was lower lvl I lvled her in thousand needles, I was going about doing the centuar quests when all of a sudden I was jumped by a crag stalker. I was killed by him, but when I cam back I was determined to do one of two things, tame him or kill him. I ended up taming him because the pet I had at the moment just wasn't working out.as soon as I tamed him he stretched and did a roar. it was really cute ^_^ I named him after blizzard cause I was a noob back then xD he's really awesome, even thought he's not supposed to be, he's really good at tanking and keeping aggro off me. since I tame dhim I haven't died that much :)he's seen alot with me, he's my main pet and I never thought I'd keep him but I've fallen in love with him, so when I make a new hunter main to replace my blood elf I'm def taming blizzy again, let's hope he attacks me first ;)
