In cataclysm he will get a new skin similar to Buru the gorger and become untameable

How it works: If you tame him on live and wait however many months it takes for Cataclysm comes out, he should hopefully get a new skin and since you still own the pet it should be updated as well

We discovered this with Soriid the Devourer, and later about Haarka as well.

I'm just hoping I can get to 60 on my hunter fast enough (Hacked 2 times beyond character reimbursement) to be able to tame both Soriid and Haarka, especially Soriid because he will certainly fit my incoming Striker's Gear (T2.5) with the mix of purple and red. And I really hope this does not make Blizzard scrap it with all this anticipation of a brainbug. Else I will seriously be broken (not in a fatal way ofcourse, but in a pissed off way).

I'll be taming Soriid myself just before Cataclysm. I really love the purple and red colours of his new model. At the same time I'm expecting the whole thing to be nerfed, so I'm not keeping my hopes up high. If it turns out we get to keep the spiffy new bugs then it will be an awesome surprise.

Might as well pick her up and keep her until Cata just to see what happens exactly.

You never know maybe they'll do one of those (let the current hunters who have it already keep the pet but no more will get the chance) type of thing

*nods* We may very well be lucky enough to get a 'grandfathered' pet. I really hope they do this, but just in the event that they stop this in its tracks I'm trying not to rely on it just so my hopes aren't crushed.

If one person was able to figure out the NPC id aspect and the fact that a pet will turn into a new model when switching to the beta, then more people would be able to as well. It's not wrong of her to post something that she discovered, most likely without knowing about the Soriid post here.

Again, it's the internet, and there's little chance of keeping anything secret in a large community such as this. It was bound to get out eventually, so we'll just have to sit back and see if Blizzard makes any decisions.

yea they have not done a pass on pets and who knows them may decide current exotic pets need more skind i mean each family has 3-5 max and they seem kinda stale
