Speculation on Cataclysm Spirit Beasts

Just do some randoms guesses on what cataclysm will give us for Spirit beasts or just whrite u'r wishes here.

we are not even sure there will be spirit beasts in cataclysm yet but if so the rares arent even implemented so we dont know where they would be!

I've already found a couple new old world rares. I haven't seen any in the new zones yet though, nor in Northrend. I'm thinking they're just not implemented yet.

I think I remember Blizz dropping a subtle Wink Wink Hint Hint Nudge Nudge about Spirit Beasties in Cata. It would make sense, after all. I'm sure more than a few animals will be caught in the hellish infernos of death and lava and whirlpools caused by Deathwing. Hopefully rares will be put in sometime soon. I can't wait to see if any unused/new skins and models will be put in!

I would personally kill for a Wind Serpent SB. A hyena would be cool as well.

I would be very happy to see spirit beasts added around trollish/druidish zones. Much as I'd love a spirit devilsaur, I'd guess raptor...

There are already green ghostly owls in Stonetalon [in the beta] that are tameable, but they are still birds of prey and not "spirit beasts"

There are many beasts that would be awesome as spirit beasts, but the one that would make some people happy would be a scorpid spirit beast... and have it spawn around the same area as the Silithid Swarmers (Southern Barrens) on live.

I mean come on... it would be there to pay homage to the fact that it use to live there... and it would be a special pet from a extinct (in Cataclysm) pet skin... and it would look "ghostly".

I'm hoping for more Skoll-like Spirit Beasts. I love Skoll's lightning effects. A Devilsaur with something similar to Skoll's special effects. There's gonna be plenty of all-new ones in Cataclysm. Or some time after it's released. And I'd absolutely love a Phoenix-like lookin' Eagle (we do have Heart of the Phoenix after all)!

I think the next spirit beast will probably look stone-like. Like that black gem cat we all want except it'll probably look more like the tol'vir. That's my guess anyway... whether it's a cat or not, it'll have that look to it.

Just a few ideas for spirit beasts here.

A boar in Blasted Lands with the Outland Model, but white skin, blue mane, yellow eyes, and instead of spikes; blue flames.

A fox in Silverpine Forest with yellow fur and black tips of the tail, ears, and limbs with light blue flame steps.

A Mastiff just outside of Gilneas with Scooby Doo's coloring and collar. Followed by an elite human male named "Scraggly Joe" who always runs in fear, despite being boss level.

A Monkey in Lost Isles that is blue and white, like that one gorilla, but has small wings and is found swimming in the air.

A Gorilla using the skeleton of a worgen found roaming in Alterac Mountains. A parody of Bigfoot.

A Turtle with two heads, similar to that new turtle with the spikes and horns. Also with a tree on its back. Roams in the barrens.

Shadowform Black Lion in the Barrens.

Violet Devilsaur with a huge underbite, streamlined face, and a spiked ridge. Think Halion, but as a T-rex.

A Bat made of pure energy, flying around Exodar. Moves like the Consortium guys. Requires flying to reach him.

Albino Sporebat flying around the Plaguelands.

At least one Spirit Beast from each pet family would be nice, and a minimum of "translucent with glowy eyes and mouth", please.

Since the theme of Cataclysm is the elements, have most of them with elemental-style skins:
Wind Serpent with twisting cyclone-wind-type skin and wings
Crab with flowing water-shadows-type skin
Rhino with mossy fur and small plants growing from his back and horn
Devilsaur with a craggy rocky skin
Ethereal-style Moth
Raptor cloaked in shadows

A fox is a small predator that exists in the Emerald Dream. They exist in the proper balance
so making a more spiritual version of it wouldn't be hard :p

It was just a quick scan of the Fan Art & Creative Writing section, but allot of the beast types of Spirit beast people are asking for have been touched on in some was or another.

I would adore a spirit beast tallstrider, but they're a pretty unpopular family, so I doubt any will be coming along.

Raptor, boar, spider, and wind serpent all seem like obvious choices, since much like cats, bears and wolves, they are found throughout many areas of the world and have a spiritual significance associated with them. (Quilboar with boars, anyways. Dwarves just make sausage out of them.)
