I wonder how noticeable the 30% speed increase would be. When I'm on my BM spec I can't tell the difference from 280% - 290%. I can tell when I'm on my ground mount so I'm assuming one might notice the flying speed a tad faster.

Luckily for me I am Exhaulted with every faction currently on my Tauren Hunter. I would myself spend it, but I do pray they change the price a wee bit. But it's blizzard, so anything for a price is good. I won't rush to actually get it, seeing as I have Epic Flight already. But it would be nice to cruise around a wee bit faster.

I'm exalted already with krin tor so if I was not getting my 310% anyway I would get it from hira snowdawn in Dalaran.

You'd think so, but it's a massive difference. Not so much in how it feels, but I keep overshooting things when I'm on Sara. You just get around a LOT faster.

Yay just 5k! I was worried (and still worried it might change) that they would make it cost a whole lot more gold then that. You bet I'll snag the training the moment I log in after Cata install. lol Now hopefully it will stay the same until release. /crossfingers

Mimiron's Head, Invincible, and any mount that scales with riding level if the user already has a 310% mount (like if you have both Celestial Steed and Violet Proto drake, the Steed will match the proto's 310% speed. If all of your flyers are 280% or under, the Steed will be the same speed as your highest training usable in that location.)

Except it sometimes bugs out for me if I mount up on it in an area where I can fly (so it registers as a 310% mount) and then choose to ride on the ground - next thing I know, I'm thundering down the path at an awe-inspiring 60%. *sigh*

These two as well will scale up. Headless Horseman's Mount and of course my favorite the X-53 Touring Rocket.

I've been a lazy player and honestly I'm not exalted with everyone I need to be. I really hope that the 5k g price tag gets lowered. I've never had anywhere near that much gold. So for players like me that artisan riding skill is pretty much unobtainable.

I have to say that the prices for flying mounts is alot! at lv 60, you pay 225g, and lv 70 5000g, then 1000g for coldwinter flying...Now another 5000g...I am sorry, but for those of us that are casual players, or have more them one alt, its really bad...hell, my two other lv 80's only have the basic 225g flying training...Most of my gold goes towards...ummm GEAR, Repairs, GEMS, ammo...flasks potions, mats...so, yeah, I really dont like how movement speed costs so much, I mean really, it should be much cheaper...like 225g, 425g 625g 825g...make it scale better...really, we have much better things to spend our hard earned gold on then movement speed. And while we're at it, Have all mounts scale accordingly...if I get faster flying ALL my mounts should move faster...and fix ground mount speeds, really, if a flying mount can go 310% A ground mount should atleast go 200%
All mounts need to be scaled to riders training, like the headless horsemans mount, the touring rocket and the celestial steed, wake up blizz, you have the technology, do it!

The problem lies in the fact there are daily quests. But dailies get tedius and boring for me and take a fair amount of time to acomplish on one toon, let alone the 5 80's I have.

In theory 20 dailies a day nets 200 gold. Times 10 days = 2000k gold.

The problem is the quests get repetative, boring or are to frustrating and or out of the way or worse can't easily be soloed by yourself.

Well you don't need to do dailys to get gold selling greys by them selves is a very easy way to get gold.

As a hunter, I make a nice chunk of change leveling pets in Icecrown. Not only do those packs of champion guys (help me out here, I can't remember what they're called but they're for one of the Argent Tournament quests) give quite a bit of money themselves, they also drop frostweave cloth out the butt, not to mention tons of greens and even blues here and there. Just getting one pet from 75-80 often nets me at LEAST 100g, if not more, and it generally takes about an hour (if I'm slow). That's not including dailies.

There are plenty of ways to make money in this game. You can gather, you can do dailies, you can farm those "champion guys"..... Sure, it might take a little longer if you don't do dailies, but it's not like there is only one option. It all depends on how dedicated you choose to be. You can't blame Blizzard if you get bored or frustrated with dailies (I admit I'm bored of them too, but that's my problem). If you really put your nose to the grindstone, you can get loads of gold pretty quickly. It's just a matter of how much time and effort you choose to put into it. It's in no way unfair to any casual player. Getting gold does not require that you be in a hardcore raiding guild (in fact, raiding often causes a loss of gold, lol), or that you have the best gear. It's available to everyone. YOU have to decide, "Hey, I really want that mount, I'm going to do dailies for a couple weeks," and that's it. Just get out there and do it! If it takes a little longer, that's fine. But I don't think making mount speeds cost a couple hundred gold is reasonable, considering how easy it is to make money. It should be something you have to work towards, not just handed to you. And if an individual doesn't want to put the time required into obtaining said goal, then that's that individual's problem, not the game's, and not anyone else's.

So in conclusion, I feel that 5000g is a fair price for this new flight speed. I imagine that the 280% will come down in price to balance it out though. Maybe something between 1,000 and 3,000?

Edit: Saving up for my chopper is going to cost 12,500g at LEAST. It's going to take a looong time to save up for that. But you know what? That's fine. I know what I have to do, I just have to make myself do it. Not like I have to rely on a guild to get money, I can do it myself, so I have no reason to complain. Do I think it's a bit ridiculous that it costs that much? Yeah, a little .....but to be honest, I'm fine with it. It's not an impossible goal, just a time-consuming one. But if I want it bad enough, I know that I have the motivation to do what needs to be done.
