Just went and tamed a new pet (Trench Stalker) and he has around 30k health... tested before and after putting talents in.

So it appears it's pre-current build pets that are having health issues.

I hope it's not a way to kill off old pre-cata pets.... force people to tame new & current pets and abandon the "impossible" pets (Ghost Wolf etc)

Conspiracy theory perhaps! :P

I tested this as well and tamed a Pride watcher from winterspring, now im only lvl80 right now and hes on lvl77 but he has 5k hp and my previously tamed wasp has 6kish hp so i'm not seeing the 30k hp pets at all on beta test. :(

Maybe it's only "cataclysm" pets that work right?
Mine was from Vashj'ir.

Don't take Wild Hunt, for one. I can get most of my pet's to have around the right amount of health. Their damage skyrocketed. For some reason my lowbie cat scales fine, but I can't get any cat's at high level to scale right.

It sounds like they're still fine tuning them. Send a bug report. :)

I think they're messing around with the pet scaling and such right now, so I imagine any tamed pets will be going through a number of changes and glitches.

I had a Trench Stalker tamed before this last patch and after I logged on today his health was around 7000.

I went to tame a new Trench Stalker and after I tamed him his health was about 25k-ish.

After I swam back to a quest giver I noticed I didn't have my new pet anymore, so I called him again... when he reappeared he had 6500ish health... this was the new pet, not the old one. I could tell because I named the old one and I hadn't named the new one yet.

So yeah, there is some kind of bug that messes with a pet's health either after you call it or you zone.

Good news is that Blizzard has fixed a lot of bugged quests, pathing issues, and added in some new load screens.

Yup tamed a Highland fleshstalker had 12k hp and so I dismissed him and recalled and he came back with 5kish ... so bug reported it.

You can work around it with a bit of effort. The only thing I haven't been able to fix so far has been my Warlocks Felguard, who is stuck at 5,500 hit points, and 800 DPS.

On a side note, my devilsaur comes out with 22,000 hit points, 5,000 lower then his norm, but his DPS is over a thousand. I'm seeing him critical with a normal attack for anywhere from 3 to 4,000 damage.

I know there is a slash command to report a bug but I don't remember it...

...it would be nice to know considering the Bug report icon is... well... bugged.

/bug brings up the next section of the bug report - but it's still bugged itself!.

My Trench Stalker has been fine every time I re-summoned him (no Wild Hunt talents). I tested a boar in Dun Morogh too and that was also fine UNTIL I put points into Wild Hunt. That 20% extra stamina contribution really buggers things up!

However every Ferocity pet I have tried taming (foxes, snow leopards) seem to instantly start with a poor 6k health - whereas my Tenacity ones have around 33k.
I've got to 83 now - so not doing any more quests until the level cap is raised. In the mean time, I'm scouting for pets!

I haven't tried this as BM yet, but for whatever reason swapping aspects brings pet health up to normal levels. Tried/confirmed at level 80 with a 77 snake and 81 with a 79 owl, both times as MM.

It's quite funny seeing your pet take half the health off a mob when you do both bestial wrath and kill command :P
I can't see that staying in :P

Tamed an owl on hyjal, pre-tame, 30k health, post tame, 20k health, post talents, 6k health. Pets are borked right now, time and blizz devs will fix this. until then though I have to find a different class to play because with as hard as mobs hit in cata this bug ain't gonna fly.
