Pet health really low

As long as you don't put points into Wild Hunt, then talents should be OK on a pet - at least the ones I've tested that actually give you a decent amount of health to begin with.

I'm a bit stuck at 83 anyway now - waiting for increased level cap before I resume questing.

Wild Hunt: Bugs on live, can cause pets to not have the full health they should, and either have pre tamed health or health that gets no bonuses from +stam talents or Wild Hunt. Or you sometimes.

Wild Hunt: Bugs on Beta. Bugs so bad your pet can be sneezed at and die.

Hahahaha. The tricky thing about coding is that it's literally possible to unintentionally alter the way a code thousands of lines down acts by changing a comma. People don't think about it much but everything in WoW is written in this complex language that is full of references to previous lines. In its simplest form, yeah, it's possible to say "when [input] do [output]", but we all know WoW is anything but simple.

Someone told me once Blizz has a constantly changing list of bugs - some are added and some are removed on a daily basis, but it's over 200,000 items long. I work around it, they have their hands full.
