Azu's Stab At another Spirit Beast

Unread post by Azunara »

Feel free to tell me to stop these whenever. I'm just enjoying myself drawing these and making up lore, tactics, etc, just for giggles. Plus I get excuses to hide in my room and be antisocial! :D

Anyway. Spirit tallstrider. I personally hate the chicken like model, I added some more feathers, a crest, a longer tail.....Like Spiritbinder's. (I don't mean it, I just prefer the more feathery style.) Anyway, the flame-y effects are to be spiritual mist, and the greenish sick color is infected scratches.

Razal was originally the loyal pet of a huntress, lost to time. The pair were inseparable. They understood each other's thoughts, and bonded to the point where they felt each other's pains. The pair were well known, near famous. Then, one day, on a march to the Frozen Citadel, Razal's partner was slain in battle, and raised as a minion of the Lich King.

Razal went mad, slaying the murderers. Covered in wounds, bleeding, the tallstrider fled and died. But his spirit refused to leave the mortal plane, not while his mistress still lived, her soul still tormented. Now his spectral body wonders the fields of Icecrown, waiting for his mistress to be slayed so they could live in peace.

Razal is an unusual rare spawn timer. He and his mistress, Azuria Ravendagger will ALWAYS spawn at the same time. Azuria will spawn in the Field of Heroes (Or wherever you kill the corrupt heroes for the daily.) While Razal will spawn closer to the place where you do the Citadel daily. Both despawn independent of each other. Razal can be down while Azuria is up, or the other way around.

Azuria uses Scatter Shot, Arcane Shot, and Spectral Shot (Does shadow damage.) Razal has a kick like the Clutchmother's, a Spectral Bite (Also deals shadow damage.) and Elusiveness, making it harder to hit him. He has an enrage at low health.

Azuria is stunnable, Razal is not.

The backstory and idea behind him is cool! However, he looks a little off-model... Did you use a picture reference? He doesn't look very much like a tallstrider, to be honest.

I like how he looks sleek and...tormented? I think that's the word I'm looking for. The colors are really beautiful, too. And flaming chicken feet, oh yes. :D

Honestly, I was going by what I remembered in my head. And the point was....I didn't particularly LIKE the tallstrider model. I tried to change it a little bit to make it look more fierce, in my head, than a very large, featherless flamingo. (Sorry tallstrider fans. No offense to you or your 'striders, this is all personal opinion.)

That, and cats, wolves, dragons, falcons, those are the things I spend my time drawing, messing around with, failing at shading and coloring. I really tried to step out of my comfort zone when I tried the tallstrider and the moth. So yes. They're going to look off. It's my fault. I can't draw, and when I try, my cartoon-ish style just ends up making it worse. :p

And Rhyela, thanks! I was trying to go for the tormented, sorrowful look. I thought the sick green, the ashy blacks and gray, and the maroon would all work nicely.
