I hate horde...

I don't like people who hate one fraction for "ganking" and such and act like their side are not the same. Both sides are full of nice people and asshats. No side is better than the other.

What? I love the guys who try to gank me after WG...Key word being try! My main set of pvp armor is just 232 stuff, with the odd drop of decent VoA gear. Besides, if you hand in the quests and buy the items as soon as possible after the battle and stay on your flying mount they shouldn't be able to get you. Also surely there are people who are willing to help kill them right after the battle?

Honestly, if you're going into Wintergrasp, I don't really know what you were expecting. I mean, granted, ganking seems a little underhanded, but it's stated up front that it's a pvp zone. It is HIGHLY likely that if you go there, a player WILL kill you at some point or another. This is why I don't go there for gathering; I hear the drops are more impressive at nodes, but it really isn't worth the hassle to me since I dislike pvp.

I do agree with what everyone is saying here, though. It seems a little extreme to go hating an entire faction because of ONE incident with ONE person. Yes, there are gankers; they are on BOTH sides. I've been ganked on my horde toons and I've been ganked on my alli toons. It sucks. There are people who are jerks who are just not worth wasting time over.

There are also nice people on both sides. Look at our primarily HORDE Petopians guild; we're all nice people there, and love helping each other out. Likewise, I've met tons of nice people while pugging the heroic dalies or doing loremaster stuff on my alli hunter main. It's just a matter of luck, as to whether you run across nice people or mean ones. It's a little unfair to declare you hate a whole player faction based on one incident.

I agree with what Velkyn said by 100% you can't judge a serves faction by a single kill.

I come from a PVP-server so ganking is pretty much everyday happening: you are BOUND to be ganked. In any pvp-area there are always the danger of that happening.

I'd recommend you not to actually try to get items right after the battle. (Chill around Dala for about a 20 minute breather) The enemies normally want some sort of honor points because you lower your guard at victory and will stick around to pick people.
I sometimes curse our Hordies but I know they have their rotten apples as much as we do.

But don't doom your servers faction because of one incident, I would have deleted my druid for losing to a rogue after he ganked me and my friend at the same time. And that was when I started WoW, when I exited to Ashenvale and let me tell you it was a scary...I ran away from troll hunters...crazy shadow priests and aerial attack fury warriors in Outland right after I stepped out of the portal!

And if you were in your PVE-gear after the fight. Then your standing a chance to a PVP-geared something is almost plain zero, no at that case it IS not a matter of skill unless the opponent is a idiot (which is rare among pvp-ers, okay not I'm a pvp-idiot)...but the resi gives him the edge that you can't crit him and the attacker will take your health down in BIG chunks.

I say you create that baby druid again and go back to talk to the guys in Venture.Co, they'll support you, believe me I'd love to talk to our USA side of the guild because I love the Europe side so much.
Or go to Omnious Latin name if you want the Alliance approach.

*Raises eyebrow* Maybe that's cause there's much more Alliance on Windrunner, so Horde seem much more.. Defensive. I've found on The Venture Co, a RP-PvP server with more Horde than Alliance, even high lvl Hordies won't gank low lvl Allies, while Alliance, no matter what lvl, it seems, will take any chance they can get to attack Horde. I dunno if it's the same on Windrunner, as I don't really like Wintergrap at all (Well, except for my on alt on VeCo, who goes fishing there for Terrorfish for the daily sometimes. .. I'M IN UR WINTERGRASP, CATCHIN' UR TERRORFISHZ), and I never do world PvP (Other than the rare times that a city's being attacked or the random Halaa raid <3), so I wouldn't know if it's the same or not. But believe me, it's not only Horde that does that sort of thing! I've seen some pretty jerkfaced Alliance on Windrunner who'd deffinitely do the same in Wintergrasp.

My first PvP experience was actually a horde warrior, 45, trying to gank my little 43 holy paladin who had accidentally flagged. Way back in Vanilla. That uh, that didn't end well for him. Poor guy kept trying. After five times, I'd finished what I'd come to do, and actually UNFLAGGED and didn't feel like killing him anymore.

But if you are a level 80 in full current season GLadiator gear killing a level 30 who is just out merrily questing or gathering, then there is something seriously wrong with you. I will even include RP reasons in this. Don't do it. It's not cool, and the only thing you are doing is proving how big of an ass you are. I go out of my way to defend lowbie zones against people like you.

As for WG, eh. It's annoying, and yes it's stupid, but it IS a PvP zone. If they attack you, attack them right back, or run for the portal. From my experience they'll usually sit on the wall and try to kill people, so unless you are below eighty then you normally have enough time to hoof it before they can off you.

Also, there is a reason I go out of my way to avoid non-instanced PvP anymore, and this includes PvP servers. The quality of asshole there was bad before. Lately, it's just god awful.

I hate the horde that gank in WG when you are trying to just buy some honor gear, or finish the quest. I know it's a pvp zone, but they delight in ganking to new levels, and exploiting all they can. I hate them enough that I'm deleting my baby Tauren in the guild, and will never roll a goblin. Just can't stand them, and the color the rest of the faction.

Now let me be clear, I didn't say I hate people that play horde.. but I do hate the horde. I find myself emotionally invested enough that I can't "go to the other side". I tried. Didn't work.

But the more I deal with the gankers (and as some here have suggested, it may be their way of taking out frustrations over loosing the BG) the more I see those players as representing the horde population. Yes, it is WG, a PVP zone, and I do expect PVP. But if they want to take advantage of every map exploit to gank and such, well, turn about is fair play.

So the next time the horde has WG.. and some poor soul is trying to buy some honor gear...

Yes but like others have said. Wintergrasp IS a PVP zone. You know the risk when you enter the zone. If you don't want to be ganked be more aware of whats around you or just don't go there. If there is horde hanging around the fort they can and will gank you and think nothing of it.

I said as much, Adam. He was talking about ganking while trying to do something like buy gear from vendors, not even outside of the fortress. It's pretty common for people to just sit on the walltops and toss spells at people from just inside their range, which was why I said to run away. Worse case scenario, it's a warlock and you can't heal, or a mage or elemental shaman who just criticaled you for 15,000. I consider it stupid to rely on tactics like that to beat people, especially if they are on a lower level then you. When you're out and about in WG, that's different, though I still find myself getting angry when I have to wax some guy who just won't let me finish which ever weekly quest.

All I'm going to say is welcome to World of Warcraft, fight for you leaders and defend your cities. Your in a War. If you are in a PvP zone be ready to fight! If not go onto a none PvP realm and avoid all PvP areas.

No, what really annoys me is this:

In Beta, Wintergrasp is screwed up. You can't fly, and if you try and taxi mount out, you die. Automatically. No warning, it's you take off and POW! Dead. This makes me flagged through NO fault of my own. Hearth to Hyjal, and sit with my dinosaur. Some Shadow Priest flags up and nukes me. I was doing nothing aggressive, in a normal zone, minding my own business, waiting for flag to go down. And he decided he screw up my day and kill me. I'm sure both sides do it, but that's the stuff that drives me nuts. Unprovoked attack.

Both side's do it equaly I know for I do play on both side's regardless and I see this kind of ganking on both.
