More Stable Slots?

How many of you guys have so many dear pets that it's impossible to pick a new one up?
Even one more slot would allow me to test pets without sacrificing something valuable.

Also what's your current pet stable slots?
Here's mine:

• Macbeth-Wolf; The typical dps pet.
  Salt-Crocolisk; My tanking pet, has the hydra model.
  Bubblegum-Bird of Prey; Aotona, my pvp birdy, also for special fights.
  Moonfire-Spirit Beast; My spirit kitty, long awaited tame, rp pet.
  Netherdancer-Warpstalker; My favorite little warpy, I bring her out for fun, she also loves to save healers from bad tanks.

I definitely think we need a few more stable slots, especially since the addition of Spirit Beasts and Exotics. I mean, many pets we want to own just as a keepsake, not necessarily for their damage or skill.

Anyways, there's a fine line between having enough and having too many. As someone mentioned on another thread, if we get to the point where we can have too many pets, it becomes hard to still feel attached. After a while you won't have that close bond you feel (they'll be outside of our monkey sphere).

Anyways, ideally I would be happy with 3 more stable slots which rounds out to an even 8 pets in total. Even better would be 5 more slots to give us 10 pets, but I'm not allowing myself too lofty of wishes since I know Blizzard probably wouldn't add that many. xD 3 seems like a reasonable number though.

On my main hunter, Vephriel, I currently have:

•Skorn - Black Devilsaur
Skorn is my favourite pet, the one I care about most. As soon as Devilsaurs were made tameable, you can bet I rushed out to grab the black one immediately. He's the pet that I bring to all of my dungeon runs, and raids occassionally when I do them.

•Grudge - Diseased Black Bear
This is my tank pet, used for when I solo some things or help lowbies through instances sometimes. I've always loved the black zombie bear, and I finally decided to grab one and spec him to be a tanking machine.

•Hypnotik - Sapphire Hive Wasp
I fell in love with the gorgeous look of these wasps. I think the vivid blue/purple is just mesmerizing, hence his name. He doesn't come out too much anymore, but I keep him because he's pretty and I enjoy how large he is.

•Rancid - Jormungar Worm
Rancid was the pet I actually levelled through Northrend with. He's named after the punk band since I think Jormungar give off a punk vibe. They have big mohawks and spikes...they're pretty badass. Plus worms are great for solo-levelling.

•Beast - Red Core Hound (The Beast)
My most recent addition, I replaced my old Molten Core Hound with The Beast as soon as I read about his boss status here on the forum. Most difficult tame I've ever attempted, but it's sure worth it. He's basically a giant vanity pet in truth, and I like having him out with the matching Core Hound Pup when I'm chilling in Dalaran or something. ^^

Here are my pets;

Wulfric-- my raiding pet. He's a Shattered Hand Warhound from Hellfire Ramparts and looks the part of a fighting pet.

Moonfire-my Moonstalker cat from Darkshore who has been my trusted companion since level 14. I wish they'd buff cats back up close to where they used to be so he could see more action. He got his name from the fact that he is a Moonstalker but also because I played a Balance Druid before becoming a Hunter and Moonfire was my favorite spell because it had a DOT effect. I thought about how a Hunter's pet was kind of like his equivalent of a DOT (something that keeps doing damage with no action required by you) so the name was born.

Gojira--My Ironhide Devilsaur, doesn't see much action either

DathShando--formerly known as Skoll


I voted for 5 more slots, we can have an infinite amount of Mounts, why not more pets as well? I've had to make too many painful choices about abandoning tamed beasts.

I would def love to have around 5 or so added. I have pets that i'd like to tame for their beauty, some for their utility, some for a Role play situation. Currently having 5 pets is simply not enough for me.

I raid and pvp so I have limited spots as it is and I have 2 spirit beast Skoll and Loque Server first for both I have my skoll tame up on youtube if anyone cares lol

I think we need a lot more. I am hoping one of the reasons they made pet leveling easier is because they have plans to expand the pet stables. I'd love to tame a turtle if I had one more spot.

Yes... I would love more stable slots, IMO, they should add two more in the next expansion really (although I voted for 6 more ) The pets I currectly have are:


Ghostwolf: My ghostly wolf tamed in TBC, was the hardest to tame from all of my pets, and my favourite; it being a wolf also makes him my dps pet for raids Due to my latency, the drums, heroism, and meta gem weren't enough for me to tame it, I needed to obtain Juju Flurry...and wreck my Bloodsail rep. And it still took me a few more tries to get it tamed.

iKrush: The first King Krush I spotted, I didn't have the preperations to tame him but tried anyway, I got killed and then a druid from the other faction killed him as I ressed The 2nd I spotted was already dead, and I killed the 3rd as I wasn't BM (found him by chance, was before Dual Spec.) The 4th was killed by another druid FROM THE SAME FACTION, while I was taming...and I had him tagged, lol. Tamed on the 5th I found, was really late, and I paid 2 people to keep him tagged while I res/tame another beast to abandon and then tame King Krush. Though it took me more time to tame that Ghostwolf, I still rank Ghostwolf as a harder tame.

Flubber: The slime from the Oracles daily, my tank pet. It tanks normal lvl 80 instances and below, MC, Kara 1st boss, and ZG raptor boss

Spirit Beast: After spending 2 weeks searching for Loque'nahak and not even seeing its corpse I chose to tame it at a later time (even after Gondria got released.) I preferred it because it is also killed for an achievement and others would want to tame it too, makes it more challenging I was leveling up a raptor this once, then I saw Loque (without looking for it, lol) and so I abandoned the raptor and tamed Loque

The Beast: Patch 3.3 made all my rare spawns no longer display their (Elite) status, and then I heard of The Beast on this forums yesterday, I knew that I had to tame it; and so I abandoned my rare spawn Terror Spinner. Unfortunately for me, I got hacked 5 days ago and was just left with my pvp gear(will get all my equipment and gold in 2 weeks said the GM.) I ended up regemming and enchanting to + haste, and the usual food, elixir, and speed pot buffs to tame it. After many unsuccessful tries, I finally got it tamed on the 51st try, lol. I noticed that the beast charges every 5 secs or so, rarely does he not (I'm not 100% sure, but I think when he doesn't it is because he misses) so I had to get him to miss twice or w/e (my tame spell was 15secs with all buffs and enchants.) While an extremely difficult tame, I will have to rank him just below King Krush in terms of difficulty of taming/obtaining.

I NEED more pets! I have all of the spirit beasts and cannot bear to give any of them up, especially since they are so hard to find. I had to give up Humar in order to tame Arcturis, which was hard to do since I'd had him ever since level 23. All of the spirit beasts are gorgeous in their own way. I've been raiding and really wanted to have a wolf for the extra dps. I finally gave up my tenacity pet (a white bear), in order to get my wolf. I'm not sure Blizz understands how much some of us hunters really love pets, and it makes the game not fun when you have to make choices like this!

I voted for unlimited slots, since I would love to tame and try out a variety of pets. I'm sure I'd end up having my favorites, but it would be a lot of fun as well as a benefit for hunters to be able to try out the various talent skills that are available.

I'm afraid that with hunters wanting more stable slots so we can have more pets, Blizz may remove that aspect from the game entirely.. make all pets the same, like they were in vanilla. I could see that being THEIR way of solving the problem.. "Want more pets? Well here, now ALL pets are EXACTLY the same! Problem solved!"

The more the merrier, I say. Well, as long as it doesn't start reaching like, 1000g for slots (unless 1000g becomes the new 100g next expansion.) There are so many pets out there, and I wish I could fit all the ones I like into one stable.

@Loffter: I think they added more stable slots into the game because the pet families themselves became more unique, didn't they? Oh, and pets back then weren't so much the same as they were different in "inherently superior/inferior" ways, such as run speed.

As for my current lineup, I'm only just (re)starting as a Hunter, so it's far from final.

Cuddles: My current tanking pet. He's a Crocolisk because I barely see any of those.
Enoby: A Raptor that could serve as DPS.
Foudre: A Wind Serpent that could DPS.

I voted for 3 more slots - eight total would be nice. Currently I do not have a PvP pet and would like to tame one, but also don't want to give up any of my current pets.

Something else I would like to see would be the ability for dual-specs to have different pets.

• Initially, the pets would be copied from one spec to the other
• After that you could drop a pet from one spec to tame another (thus giving non-BM specs the ability to have a full set of viable pets)

Currently BM spec - my pets:

• ShadeauBane - Cat (Ghostsaber)
• Redrum - Wolf (Ironjaw)
• NailBiter - Devilsaur (Ironhide)
• Twilight - Spirit Beast (Gondria)
• Romper - Gorilla (Hardknuckle Charger)

Me?...I want unlimited slots. Blizz seems to have their price gun stuck on 1K for most extras so i'd be more than happy to pay it for unlimited slots (like the key ring...expands as needed). My current stable is as follows:

Jakuta (Loq SB) - My most beloved pet and the one you'll find me with most.

Atka (Arcturis SB) - My newest addition. I like my fuzzy half-visible bear.

Ukiah (Skoll SB) - Was the hardest of my stable to capture.

Electra (Gondria SB) - Was the easiest of them all to capture. Six hours after I got him for my hunter I cruised my wife's hunter through the area and got him again for my wife.

SnotRocket - My crocoslime and the only pet I have left to use on the rare occasions when I run my MM spec.

Pretty sure Blizz will be releasing at least 1 new spirit beast with Cata so they NEED to fix this stable controversy NOW! I WANT MORE SLOTS BLIZZ!! DO YOU HEAR ME? MORE SLOTS!! DON'T MAKE ME COME DOWN THERE!!

A key ring/ mount tab for our stables would be simply amazing and i would kiss blizz.. seriously. One of the most enjoyable aspect of hunters is having all those interesting/useful/adorable/cool pets for us to tame... but being limited really bites into our butts.


I still have no idea what im going to do with my pet issue of which ones im going to keep :[

I would love for the stable pet system to work like the mount and vanity pet system.. i can never seam to get enough... i always fall for some new pet and i cannot bear to get rid of the olds onces cause i love them too

And its no problem with me to get attached to many creatures.. all my vanity pets has names and i play fetch with them, feed them and brush them
