Lord Aurius Model Change

Aurius Rivendale now has his own unique model that has been made to look like the Aurius met in Alonsus Chapel

Before that it was just a model of the old Baron Rivendale with Aurius' name on it:

From what I've found there's yet to be an in-game explanation of why Aurius has the last name of Rivendale but it may just be the title that goes with the position.

The achievement text for it has changed to refer to this "Rivendare 2.0" so I would assume he does.

any word on how he became corrupted (lore wise)?

Probably when he comes in to "help" you defeat the current Baron... and dies in the slaughterhouse?
I'm thinking that Argent Dawn captive is either crud at cleansing evil - or is part of the evil! She wasn't very good at staying free.

It's either that - or Blizzard realised having the "real" Baron Rivendare in Stratholme, DK starter quests and Naxxramas simultaneously is a bit much. Even Kael'Thas doesn't do three places.
So Aurius finally got corrupted (possibly when the Blood Elf paladin's defiled the chapel) and takes over while the Baron moves on to more important things...
