King Dred - HC

Unread post by Saturo »

Is King Dred tameable on HC now? The Naxx spiders are, so reasonably, he should be too.

Wasn't he always? I thought the issue was that he was too high level to tame.

I KNOW that he's tameable on normal! I was asking about HEROIC. He's shown as tameable on lore, same as the naxx spiders, but it's a LEVEL issue, and now I'm just asking. I haven't even heard of anyone taming a heroic boss.

Why would you want to tame him? Seems a bit of a waste to me.

Why would you want to tame King Krush or Moshie? Or normal Dred for that matter.

I'm going to tame him when we get the bigger stables. I like the idea of getting my friends together (I'm enlisting a friendly shammy for heroism and my buddy's holy priest has agreed to sacrifice himself for threat-free heals.) and getting a really hard tame down. I don't want a different mob with the same skin, I want Dred.

And taming regular Dred isn't? :P

People shouldn't need that gear in Cata anyway. ;)

Well they would need the gold the gear gives and stuff. That still does not make it not feel like a waste to me lol

Eh, the gold off of ONE boss's drops isn't worth it in comparison to the happiness of the hunter, IMO. Especially since no one's going to be doing a taming run at-level, since that's not possible. Gotta be his level, which means outleveling/gearing the instance to begin with.

I could say the same about The Beast in UBRS, yet hunters do go there to tame it regardless of the loot it can give, like that +Skinning dagger.

Yeah but in all fairness, the Zulian slicer (also +skinning) from ZG drops better, not to mention you have a chance at a tiger mount there! The Beast was definitely my most entertaining solo tame I must say - he gave me grief for a good two days before I got enough haste, luck and star alignment (curse old-world FD resists)! Love that he keeps his -1 level / boss icon!

I've yet to be successful with King Krush - someone always dies, and far too often due to outside interference. I've wanted him since he stomped on me the first time!
