Nothing up on wowhead for the ID, it's just the old "untameable" id that's up which is completely different than Haarkas' ID...47387 / 8205. So perhaps two completely different mobs.

I'm surprised there isn't much more excited uproar in this post, considering how much was in Sorrid the Devourer discussion.

Shell-shock, and not daring to hope that this sticks to release I'd guessPorrasouxRex wrote:I'm surprised there isn't much more excited uproar in this post, considering how much was in Sorrid the Devourer discussion.

I for one intend to be camping in Tanaris for the cataclysm release!
Re: Silithid Colossi tameable once again!
Probably also the fact that this is a "what was before is again" post, rather than the initial discovery. Still important, but not as exciting to everyone as entire new families and skins

This, and especially the part about not being able to actually do anything about it in advance - with Haarka and Soriid, you could go out and tame them before they changed to the new model and every hunter and his brother started camping for them.Anyia wrote:Shell-shock, and not daring to hope that this sticks to release I'd guessPorrasouxRex wrote:I'm surprised there isn't much more excited uproar in this post, considering how much was in Sorrid the Devourer discussion.

Now, it (once more) looks like we will get brain bugs in cata... but no opportunity to pick up "advance copies". So we will just have to see.

Re: Silithid Colossi tameable once again!
Just a little to add.
I tamed Ainamiss Sunday evening around 6:30 central time, which was 4:30 Realm Time (lost isles). Saw her again tonight (Monday night/Tuesday Morning), around 12:30 server, which was about 6 hours after our last server restart. So it's possible she may spawn semi often, but server restarts on beta tend to screw with spawn timers I'd guess (at least if they're anything like a lot of the Northrend rares for the achievement). I have yet to see Harakiss.
Additionally, today I saw both Soriid and Haarka (Haarka was actually up at the same time as Ainamiss, so no spawn linking there... Soriid was up in the afternoon). They are both most definitely back to their old models, and both were found inside the caves (whereas Ainamiss has been up top both times). Here's a shot of Haarka. I didn't get one of Soriid. Didn't think to at the time.
And for the record, I didn't tame or kill Ainamiss the second time. I took a few screenshots, tried to get ahold of the only other horde hunter in Tanaris (she was afk), and left her to be. But, I did get some amusing screenshots for size comparison.
As you can see, they are very big, even after taming (she's a FAR bigger pet than any core hounds or devilsaurs). To the point where I will dismiss it in buildings and use the "move to" command around quest npcs and objects to keep her out of the way (and to be nice to the other players... I actually love the big size, and would hate to get it nerfed or made untameable because I was a jerk in beta and wanted to stand my pet on top of questgivers).
I will say, it's been good for turning heads in Org.

Whoa, I thought they were so huge because they didn't shrink... O_O
It's good to see the old rares are their usual selves. That way someone who has one and is attached won't get a potentially bad surprise when logging into Cata for the first time.

The only thing that could make this any cooler would be if they allowed pets to respec - forget the beetle, how perfect would this thing be as a tenacity pet?

Geez.. I wonder if these things are going to be more camped then a new spirit beast usually is? I soo know I am going to get one but ill alos be busy leveling. Have tow mains to get to 85! But it'll be so much more fun now cata is more guild oriented. I enjoy doing things with the guild
On Saon ill be getting Ainamiss as a tribute to Mania. On Sas Ill be getting the other one

Re: Silithid Colossi tameable once again!
Okay so, I found Harakiss finally. (Haarka was up at the same time, btw, so definitely no shared spawn timers). He's big, but considerably smaller than Ainamiss - about the size of a post-tamed Ainamiss. Harakiss, however, does not get any smaller after you tame him, so both would be the same size as pets.
I've noticed, for the seekers out there, that the two bugs pat a little, but not around the entire hives. They pick a small area and move around in it. Ainamiss has spawned in both north and south areas of the hive, but after watching for quite a while last night, never seemed to travel more than a few steps. Harakiss was on the west side of his hive, almost to the edge. Obviously too early to start plotting spawn points and timers, but I figure any little information is better than none.
Edit: On a side note, I need a name for Harakiss.

If they're going by real hives/bugs, breeding females (and the Aina one is called the Hive Queen) are usually much bigger than the fertile males, which is what I assume Harakiss would be?Kalliope wrote:That's fascinating! I wonder why Harakiss is smaller....
