im on the hunt for skoll

The spawn timer is around 9-12hr I think. Hes by far the toughest SB to find lol. Good luck on your hunt. I actually find him more by the dwarf area then anywhere else. He gets killed alot if you have a populated server who keeps looking for TLPD. Mornings are your best bet to find any rares. Weekends are alot busier with school already started so weekdays are much more quiet. If you can try the ole 1-5am camp. The earlier in the morning the more chances he wont get killed and he'll be up longer.

Skoll camping can be a bugger, due to TLPD's range over lapping him and lots of folks getting bored and trigger happy waiting for TLPD to make an appearance. Skoll does NOT have a long shelf life!
If you have friends friends who will cover two of three points, do it! As far as camping vs patrolling, goes some prefer to patrol, some just pick one and go with it for a while. If you pick a spot, log in and out from there, too when you aren't camping it.
Otherwise, early morning, when most of the nocturnal gamers are still asleep and you'll have less competition.
I've heard a 6-8 hour spawn timer on him, but don't know how true that is, cause I've also heard 6-24 hours! I got him on dumb luck, myself, so I don't know what his spawn time on my tame was.

Don't just path around the place. Come online at intervals. He's neutral, so you have to get your face in the snow to find him.

GL on Skoll man' - I spent 16hrs straight waiting for em' & he finally spawned at the cave southern Snowdrift Planes... however in that 16hr start I might've missed him prior so... A lot of folks say they find him at Brunhilder Disk; I'd assume if you park at one spot he'd "eventually" spawn at that location?

im watching movies on justin tv as i check why im watching SALT(still watching by the way) he spawns at 12:17am server time on darrow
i didnt start shaking or anything just reacted abandond nuramoc or w/e that purple flying thing is called
i used that spell to shoot a freeze trap it didnt work i went omfg no but kept the tame going i get down to 5seconds left at 3k hp he misses twice n i get him my hands werent shaking but my heart rate was jacked right after i got him felt like i needed a asprin good times back to watching the rest of my movie 1 spirit beast left to go thoe i might not tame that tiger i dont like how it looks my yellow worm just so much awesomer plus got ot have a tanking pet m i right (doesnt mean im not going to check right now =D)

On my hunter, back when I had the freedom of having BM as 2nd spec, I tried three times to camp-tame him.

1st try - "I'll patrol around this mountain all night long and tame him!" ... *20 minutes later* "I'm bored, let's go farm some ZG rep".
2nd try - Not so much of a try, I just kept looking for Jeeves schematic around there while leveling my pvp pet. Left without a new pet, but with the schematic and level 80 spider.
3rd try - Determined to camp all night long. ... 15 minutes later "meh, I'll do a lap around the mountain and come back watching that rogue herb everything." *at snowdrift plains* "Hummm a yellow dot? omfg Skoll!"

So, along with varying from camping to patrolling around I'd heavily suggest keeping the Track beasts on. There's only rhinos other wise that show up as neutral mobs, but they don't generally go near the spawn points.

I just reached 80 and will start looking for skoll, so far I know of three places, the stalking dragon, the harpies and south of snowdrift planes. I have a feeling I will find him with the dragon though.

Anyone have seen him at one spot more than the other?

Congrats on your tame! I also found him by dumb luck, my shaman was out skinning and I figured I'd skin around his spawn points. I flew up there and he was patiently waiting for my troll huntress!

I helped a guy get Skoll this last weekend, poor guy went through a 40hr non-stop camp. Saw Skoll killed twice under his nose, it was heartbreaking. He finally has him, and I'm very glad for him, though I consider that much of a headache not worth any pet, heh.

I got him after only a day or so of on-again, off-again camping. I just did flybys of his spawn points with Track Beasts on, and as luck would have it, he showed up near the Brunhilder disk!

Remember that he's neutral, so he'll show up as a yellow dot on your radar, not a red. Happy Hunting!

Skoll is easier to find because there is alot less traffic where he spawns. I've found him close to the son of hodir each of the 3x I've seen him on both toons.

I disagree tremendously. The spawn point for Skoll at Bor's Breath on the lake is also the most populated camping spot for TLPD. The odds of Skoll living past 5 minutes there is very unlikely. The other two spawn points are also along the TLPD pathways which makes a flyover a lot more probable (unlike Gondria for instance where you would have to fly out of your way to get him). I would say though that the Brynhildar spawn point (by the disk) would be the place where he would survive the longest after a spawn though (but still people do the Brynhildar daily often too).

I recommend do flyovers on off times during the night where there are not many people online. Thats your best chance. In theory Skoll has the exact same chance to spawn at 3 AM rather than 5 PM, if you're up that late or you wake up early one morning for a reason or another, thats your best chance to look, because of if he spawns the likelyhood that someone else stumbles upon him would be less.


~Another tip~ For those trying to look for Skoll themselves, if you see anyone camping for TLPD at bor's lake or something, strike up a convo with them. If you ask nicely enough I would be most of them would be happy to alert you if Skoll spawns there (tell them you'll tip them even) ~ that way you can stake out one of the other spawn points

I agree, if you're out there for a long time start making friends with fellow campers. I met a lot of TLPD seekers while on my Skoll hunt and since we were there together so long we chatted and struck a bargain that I would tip them off to TLPD if they tipped me off to Skoll. Even just asking in General chat every hour or so will make people recognize you if you're there long enough and they'll be more likely to whisper you.
