Looking for a Spirit Beast
But I have no clue if there's any tactics for taming one.
The hunter I'm using is Wispquill, level 78 now. I can fly in Northrend now, but I'm a bit cautious, due to Burning Blade's a PvP realm. <.<'
Also, which one could I tame?

Re: Looking for a Spirit Beast
I would vote Loque or Skoll. However, I'm biased because the blockiness of Gondria and Arcturius shows in their half-transparent state and that annoys me XD
I don't think there's a trick beyond being lucky and patient.

Re: Looking for a Spirit Beast
Use a rare finding mod such as Silver Dragon (can't remember the name of the other one that I don't use atm) http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... ragon.aspx
Get familiar with whichever Spirit Beast you want to tame, including its spawn point(s) and pathing (if applicable) http://www.wow-petopia.com/family/spiritbeast.html
As for which to tame, they are all basically the same, so it is a completely subjective opinion (although until you hit 80, Skoll is out of the question due to level restrictions).
As for when to tame, I suggest late at night on the weekday. Less player traffic will help you find your future pet before someone else does and avoid being ganked. Simply fly around the spawn point(s) of your target with the mod active and cross your fingers.
Good luck!

Re: Looking for a Spirit Beast
I downloaded both rare spawn addons; SilverDragon (won't stop finding rares, even after first sighting), and _NPCScan.
SilverDragon is mostly a backup for when I forget to delete cache for NPCScan, which does happen, like before. ^.^'
Thank you both for the advice.
As for which Spirit Beast: I'll try for either Loque or Arcturis, mostly whichever I find first. (I'll try for some-odd days, instead of one night only.)

Put the trap right at your feet. Spirit beasts pounce when you start the tame.

Yanno when I tamed Loque, he never tried to pounce. He just ran at me.Sarayana wrote:Put the trap right at your feet. Spirit beasts pounce when you start the tame.

Re: Looking for a Spirit Beast
Maybe you were too close for a pounce? Gondria pounced me, but for Arcturis and Skoll I was right next to them. I dropped trap and tamed. (Well, somehow Skoll managed to sidestep the trap, but ya know... all's well that ends well.Taluwen wrote:Yanno when I tamed Loque, he never tried to pounce. Re: Looking for a Spirit Beast
My main hunter has Loque and I find him to be the most rewarding... I say that because I have at one time had each of the spirit beasts. Loque is easy to find and has a wonderful sound to him
named mine Loco!

My main is a Undead warrior but I adore my hunter, Gundo. Hunter love Fo reeels! I currently have 5 80's 4 of which are doing ICC 25 reg and heroics.

Loque is generally NOT easy to find and tame. Especially on a PVP realm I would put him as the hardest to find / hardest to tame and not get ganked. Sholozar is generally the most populated (for the miners and the herbers) which adds to the likelyhood that someone will come across Loque randomly. Since there are a lot of players, on a PVP realm it could be very likely some ganker from the other side would hop down and fight you or even kill Loque just to spite you.
Arcturis is in Grizzly Hills in one location, you can just camp right on top of his spot and leave your computer on with NPCSCAN or Silverdragon, also generally the only players are 73-75 there as well so if you're higher they may not pose much of a threat to you.
Gondria in Zul Drak is a easier one to nab because Zul Drak is generally barren with not much traffic. Less chance of a random spotting from another player, less chance for ganking/shenanigans etc.
Skoll is lvl 80 so wait till then ~ Perhaps a bit easier than Loque since the only people in Storm Peaks usually are running the Hydir Spoils daily or camping for Time Lost Proto Drake.
~I do however think Loque'nahak is the coolest of them all and for his rarity I do find him the most rewarding (I agree with you there Gundo). One brightside is that while looking for Loque'nahak you could also come across Aotona or King Krush as well (and get alot of mining/herbs)

Re: Looking for a Spirit Beast
I think...I tamed loque during midnights and skolll was just while doing an ulduar achievement run...
loque is annoying hard
then king crush
skoll 3rd then arcturis...
gondria is pretty easy

Yeah Gondria is cake. Arc is relatively easy, it's just generally a long camp cause his respawn timer seems to be a really large range...

Re: Looking for a Spirit Beast
Id have to say that Loque is the nicest but would be the hardest for you to get just because you are on a pvp realm and Loque is on an acheivement list so many people kill him. Your best bet for him is late nights and early early mornings like 2-5 am.
Skoll is lvl 80 but once you get there he is by far the most beautiful northrend worg I have ever seen. Hes not easy to find since he is always killed by people who are camping TLPD.
Arctuirs is nice because hes in one spot. And one spot only so you can fly high and camp him.
Gondria is in zul drak and its not usually heavily populated. So she's by far the easiest one to find. Except.. when your looking for her.. darn thing is eluding me haha.
But GL on your hunt. The easiest way for me was to download npcscan overlay it shows all the spawn points of rares. Some you may have to add in manually but its great to know the spawn locations without having to leave the game!
