Yeah, that's why I let mine go, but kept my flaming boar. I want a pet I can fight side by side with instead of worrying if they'll lose their skin when they die.TygerDarkstorm wrote:Let's not start fighting or anything in here. Personally, I didn't see the point of taming one of the temporary ghost wolves anyway because you couldn't use the pet without risk of it dying, and for me, the skin lost a lot of its appeal because lots of hunters on Suramar have the original ones. But to each their own.

Because, apparently, I am forbidden from expressing any form of disappointment according to you.
I WILL be "disappointed until the tauren come home". It IS my right. And I'll thank you to respect that.

Anyway, no offense but if you make a weak argument....expect others to rebuttal back with something strong. They're not personally attacking you. They're just having a debate, which is harmless and I also agree with a lot of them. I also think its not the fact you're expressing disappointment(I expressed it too), it's the fact you're making it out like Blizzard totally screwed WoW up with this.
I haven't even touched my hunters. Why? My druid is nearest and dearest to me so I vowed she got top priority on the 85 list. Lisaara and Taluwen can wait. You don't see me getting all upset cause I still gotta level BOTH of them. I have rare pets in mind for them too. I know the road will be rough but I'll work around my schedule. Hell, I even joined a raiding guild that worked best with my schedule.
All in all, pitching a fit of how long it'll take you to get to 85 because of YOUR schedule is kinda moot point. Not even worth bringing up to try and support the argument you're making cause it doesn't support it at all. If you're leveling too slow for your tastes, instead of yelling at us, why not think of a new way? I already see that 'dual-boxing' thing being a HUGE slow on your leveling. I suggest not doing that if you wanna get to 85 as these quests and the dungeons MUST have prompt and focused attention. You can't faceroll like we did in Wrath.
So TLDR: if your schedule you have is slowing you down somehow, then either work with it or find some way to fix the problems in it. I work night shift and day shift. I still manage to level just fine and quickly while enjoying the cata content. I've read many forum posts about taming these pets. While I am a little jealous, I remember 'I made a vow to level Jetfyre first cause she was my first toon. Those pets will be there.'

actually, that is NOT what I am expressing.Taluwen wrote: Anyway, no offense but if you make a weak argument....expect others to rebuttal back with something strong. I said I thought that Blizzard missed the mark.
"totally screwed WoW up"? no. they disappointed me and in my opinion did not do the "right thing". I think they could have been a tiny bit more generous with the sparklies for lower-level hunters. but that is my opinion. and I haven't expressed it as ANYTHING other than my opinion.
there's nothing weak in my argument (it was actually an observation, and NOT an "argument") that the ghostly wolf skin is a very low level skin, and I see no reason for the first and only tamable version of it to be a rare level 85.
it's a shame to see that there are people on this forum who refuse others the right to an opinion.
in my opinion - and that is MY opinion and no one can say it is "right" or "wrong" - most of the new pets and skins are boring and bland. we all have different tastes, which is normal. else, we'd all have the same pet. but for myself? the last pet that got me truly excited was Gondria.

Re: Pets With Appearance Buffs no longer tameable
My main server is Suramar and I'm leveling up a couple of my toons there for my guild and I mess around on my alts in my spare time or when I don't feel like working on my "mains." Currently, I'm probably one of the slowest levelers in the guild, by choice, and my boyfriend (who absolutely hates leveling and I usually have to push him to quest with me) went on ahead of my druid because I was going too slow for him and he wanted to get to 85.
We can actually say that the "sparkly" pets were wrong. A few of us stated while the craze was happening that this is technically against Blizzard's coding and, essentially, "rules." If those pets had been meant to be tamed that way, they would stay in such a way after the taming process. To even get those "low level ghost wolves" you had to take the animal to about half-health before using the macro to tame it. If it were meant to be a true ghost wolf, you wouldn't have to do that to tame it; Karoma, for example. Blizzard didn't intend for those kinds of pets to be tameable, and now they're telling us that.
And for all intents and purposes, those low level ghost wolf exploit tames were nearly useless anyway as the pet couldn't be used (other than for show) for the risk of it or you dying and you losing the buff.

Re: Pets With Appearance Buffs no longer tameable
That's one of the reasons I'm disappointed by not having access to some of the skins. They make them for level 85 players only... but there's part of the pleasure of leveling UP to 85. I happen to enjoy having a pet I really like at my sides while doing that. I don't care for the "rush to level cap" just to get a pet I find appealing.
For myself, I would like to have a pet I really enjoy spending time with AS I level to 85.

Re: Pets With Appearance Buffs no longer tameable

I fully expected this to get fixed in one way or another, I'm just glad that it's been fixed in such a way that we get to keep the pets we already tamed. It's a bit of a shame about the buffed ones, though. Previously my husband's oiled wolf kept the effect through death. Now we're not so sure. And I really doubt he's willing to test it and find out the hard way. He was all proud of Shadow when he got him (back when the discovery about the oiled wolf was made, way before the abandon macro).

Re: Pets With Appearance Buffs no longer tameable
Theres Arcturis, Gondria, The green spirit owl and the ghostly blue two-headed bird, Ghost Saber, 3 different colors of runed dogs and the strawberry serpents and that's only what I can think of without go to browse petopia and really search for one.
Honestly I havent seen anyone trying to forbid you to have an opinion (and if someone have they are wrong), only saying they don't share it.
It's sad if you are upset over this, but do the best of it, find a pet you like and level to 85 in your own pace and then go for that pet of your dreams.

I let the scorpions kill him. His corpse still retained the oil effect.
Rezzed him and he's still as shadowy as ever.

The pets that keep their buffs after death:
Consumed Thistle Bear
Angered Arakkoa Protector
Armored Battleboar
Oil-stained Wolf
Oil-covered Fledgeling
The Lone Hunter
I'm pretty sure that's all of them; any of the others will lose their buffs on death.
Be aware, though, that entering Arena (and possibly rated BGs, depending on how those will work) will wipe ANY buffs from the pet, including the "permanent" ones.

Hate to say this but....Sukurachi wrote:I think you hit the nail on the head, Tyger, when you say you "don't intend on rushing to 85".
That's one of the reasons I'm disappointed by not having access to some of the skins. They make them for level 85 players only... but there's part of the pleasure of leveling UP to 85. There's other pets besides Karoma. just sayin. If your hunter is 80.....you have an ENORMOUS book of pets and looks infront of you.
So again, whining about how all the cool pets are 85 is moot cause they arent all 85. A lot of them are low level. Also, the 'ghost wolves' in SFK arent even there anymore. It's all undeadish. And like Tyger said....the 'lowbie ones' arent even the real ghost wolves. It's just a buff they LOSE when they die. So there's no sense in even trying to use that to make a point cause it's not the same as the tameable mistake ones.
While you can have your opinion all you want....I'm going to advise something. Find another pet you like and work to your goal at your pace however you want rather than arguing about it here. Karoma isnt the only spirit beast out there. You said you like Gondria? Use her instead of dismissing her cause shes not Karoma. Not trying to be mean or nothing but that's all you've been doing is ranting and raving in this topic rather than going "Well thats a shame. I'm disappointed but oh well." and shrugging it off.

I should just stop liking what I like and do exactly what YOU say to do.
I will get right on that.. soon as you send the cheque to pay for my World of Warcraft account.

The point. You missed it 2 pages ago and you seem to enjoy adding in the whole "you dont pay" excuse when no ones telling you how to play. But whatever. You can stay in la-la land and be ungrateful for all the things Blizzard has done to us. That's your decide.Sukurachi wrote:Wow, you're totally right.

I'm with Sukurachi. Love the game, deplore some of Blizzard's decisions (and snap reneges). And life goes on.
