Re: Terraria
That's the hard part! I had lots of trouble setting up a multiplayer server; we both had to get Hamachi to serve as a go-between. Don't even ask. There were so many hoops that had to be jumped through before it would work, though it was totally worth it when it did.Meggers wrote:All you need to do is create a world and have people connect, its that easy! c:

If it's that easy for you, congratulations! For a lot of us, that isn't the case. Or wasn't. Maybe it's been fixed....Meggers wrote:Kalliope wrote:That's the hard part! Re: Terraria
Makes this game really boring for me if I cannot play with other people. =(
A rare visitor to this forum now that I don't play WoW anymore, but forever a Petopian.

Don't worry; haven't been getting that feeling at all.Meggers wrote:Kalliope, I'm not trying to make it seem like you guys are idiots...seems you're getting that from my posts? Anyways, I'm just confused. What exactly is the issue? All I've ever known is entering the IP for the person hosting the world and then clicking a connect button.

The problem was that entering in an IP didn't connect us - the screen would just display "connecting" forever. It wouldn't even time out, as I recall. Hamachi's IPs worked, though. It was really odd.
The devs had even posted officially suggesting Hamachi as a go-between because the problems were so rampant.

Maybe his method could help others to easily set up a stable multiplayer.

Re: Terraria

So many games get the multiplayer problems. Do not want.
-edit-
Read post above me, maybe its also because we put the DMZ up on our router. o:

Re: Terraria
We started doing this automatically for multiplayer games where we need someone to host because so many games eff up with the multiplayer crap.

DMZ is basically turning off your routers firewall afaik. You can just turn it back on when you're done. None of us have had any "break ins" or bad things happen while we had it off/on whatever. XD
(I think this automatic DMZ turnoff that we do for the host is probably why we didn't experience the connectivity issues)
