Hunter dps rather lackluster?

I do better when prioritizing crit. I reforged to a mastery heavy set up just to check it out and I didn't like it.

Well you're not in raiding gear, let alone challenge gear....so that's probably part of your issue right there. Make sure you're hit and expertise capped. That makes a hefty difference. If I recall, Blizz also mentioned the numbers would be different in MoP so really what you're doing is pretty average.

sorry i missed this...please explain challenge gear? The gear set has no stats and is only for epeen transmogrification. Or have i missed something?

I pulled 58k damage on the bomberman boss, 40-45 ish on the next two and forgot to look on the last boss.

When i did sha of anger last night to get me boots i ended up 10th in a 40 man raid (no idea how many tank or healers) did about 43K. the next hunter that was close to me was 28th i think. Peeps above me were mainly locks which were padding meters with dots on adds.

I spent a nice bit of time ccing and kitting some adds and really wasn't trying to top charts. Think i'll try again to see what happens. worm be really good on that fight for the aoe. I also have yet to max me toon, all this is from me gut now.

They're doing raids with full buffs and debuffs, so it's hard to compare to your numbers.

I can pull a solid 50k in 5 mans and i just hit 463 ilvl as survival im hit and expertise capped for raids (7%) and manage my cd's etc for somereason my belt and ilvl arent showing properly http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/e ... u/advanced

Are you getting good melee trains/buffs/debuffs for the 5s? I've been running with casters myself, so it's harder to gauge.

lowest ive done (with current gear) in 5 mans is 42k highest is 64k depends on mobs and aoe etc im spamming multi shot and using exp trap on groups larger than 2 at all times etc dire beast and glaive when they are up etc...also make sure you have the right pet up im primarily using wolf for crit or hyena for 10% haste..

I don't mind the complexity now but I agree that losing the set bonus double focus and the lack of haste making our Cobra Shots take foreverrrrrr makes it feel a bit clunky. I tried SV and that was even worse focus regen with no real burst or BW to lower focus costs. The caveat to all this is that I haven't raided yet and am in 459 gear so I'm reserving full judgement but given those limitations I still feel like we need a bit of a tweak.

Well yeah, initial burst is good, but sustained dps is barely over 30k. And is it me, or does Covra Shot take forever now? I realize haste ratings have changed, bu man, it's killing me, especially since loosing my 2 set from DS which doubled focus regen.

I have been feeling this too. The shot takes forever and without my dearly loved set bonus I’m getting half the focus for what feels like twice the cast time. I also had myself glyphed and speced so that the focus cost of my abilities was much lower. With the new glyphs and talents things just got a lot slower and more expensive.
Of course I have always ended up getting in the game after the final raid of the expansion has been put on farm status so I’m used to getting better gear much faster then this.
Doesn’t change the fact that cobra shot seems to be the reason behind a lot of our problems here though so I guess the only thing we can do is try and get more haste. >.< (and cap hit and ex)

Like the other hunters here I am BM. Any mm/surv having this problem?

Agreed about Cobra Shot. I'm feeling the loss of our 2 set bonus as well. I think that's the main thing for me. Ugh, focus regen.

Maybe I'm just talking as a marks hunter, but I'm not feeling focus starved as BM. I'm popping instants like crazy and don't have to cobra shot as often as all that. I'm definitely in the 40-somethings, even at my lowest, and that's just in PvP gear really (my PvE gear fell behind on enchants and such, so I haven't been swapping) - and that means I'm not even hit/exp capped.

I haven't been monitoring very closely, as you can probably tell, but I will do so once I've gotten my things in order.

i posted my build earlier... in heroics on groups of 2 or more im shooting explosive trap,spamming multi,rapid fire (if up) cobra to regain focus then multi, maybe kill shot .... for bosses im MD tank,pop stampede,murder of crows,dire beast,glaive,serpent,explosive shot,black arrow...then its a matter of maintaining and watching Cd's lock and load procs glaive dire when up etc.. readiness on kill shots etc... i rarely look at the bosses more at the buttons.. like whack a mole with buttons

Im playing only as survival btw.. BM loses its usefulness after initial burst and isnt great for raids or heroics IMO unless you feel like padding meters

depending on group makeup use a hyena (10% att spd) seems to pickup the slack from 2 set loss.. besides the huge dps gain from 463 gear negates old tier by a longshot

I took part in killing the Darkmoon Rabbit and the top three in damage for the just over 6 minute fight were all Hunters with me at #3 in all quest gear except for two Justice pieces. My bow is green. I think Hunters are fine.

Personally I would go by femaledwarf which I think is better than Mr. Robot. I have tried Mr. Robot twice and both times my dps dropped considerably going by what it said. It values Haste far too highly unless you're MM specced.

I have been using 463 gear. I do bring a snake with me but haven’t been using it much. (either because it was covered or more often because with people still gearing up, having the Quilin b-rez on hand has been rather important! XD)
I will try using my snake more. Thanks.
