Hunter dps rather lackluster?
I don't get it, I felt great wih my hunter from BC till 5.0. Not sure if its just heavily gear dependent, or if its just me. What numbers do you guys find yourself pulling in heroics? I've been BM too if that counts.

Absolutely this. ^^Jessibelle wrote:Well you're not in raiding gear, let alone challenge gear....so that's probably part of your issue right there.Make sure you're hit and expertise capped. That makes a hefty difference. If I recall, Blizz also mentioned the numbers would be different in MoP so really what you're doing is pretty average.
It's starting from scratch on dps and everyone is having trouble with burst damage now compared to 85. We had a couple of horde trying to kill us repeatedly yesterday and they kept dying repeatedly because there was no possible way they could burst any of us down fast enough before our healer got un-CCed. Everything is super-beefy now!

Re: Hunter dps rather lackluster?
Did hunters become more gear dependent in the past. Heck just gearing up in WotLK I was able to pull close to 2k (2k being entry numbers for raiding at the start ), before getting heroic gear. So 30-40k sustained is average at the moment?
Oh, on a personal note, mail Agi gear does not exist in heroics for me. Ran at least 20 heroics since hitting 90 Wednesday and have obtained 3 heroic pieces.

Given, I'm still not looking at top tier matchups at this stage (in terms of personal experience), but it was quite impressive to me that I did okay.

Re: Hunter dps rather lackluster?
My druid used to pull 50k+ as a kitty in heroic DS gear. Now in MoP, I'm pulling 20 - 30k and I'm ilvl 440. No heroic gear yet either so if that's any indication from a raiders perspective, Blizz made us beefier.

Another part I my frustration stems from he need/greed system right now. For example, I had the option to need on some int plate, but not on a crit trinket with an agility proc. O_o twice I've seen the end trinket in Schomence disenchanted. >.<
The best thing I have going for me right now is rep gains. Tomorrow ill be honored with Golden Loutus and revered with Klaxxi. The LW patterns should buff my item level, and I'm not sure what the mantid have for me, but I hope it's good. :p

Re: Hunter dps rather lackluster?
Hunter DPS probably isn't stellar compared to the others... I don't know, my guild isn't even going to raid til next week, so I can get raid numbers in by then, but I'm hit and expertise capped at just over 7.5% each (about 7.8% so .3% over on each). I'm also apparently 6th most geared hunter on my server (using my Ally hunter). Not sure how much my gear points will go up cause I went from green 429 quest boots to heroic boots off of this run. xD So DPS will go up again, too. But this is as random of a sample as I can pull for my gear level (459 during the run).
I've also had to revamp my entire keybinding set up to include Glaive Toss and Murder of Crows (which I guess comes out on top right now...? I took my choice off of DwarfHunter). So I'm not completely used to my set up yet, but I'm getting there. I also only used Readiness on the second fight (I believe. I know I didn't on the first).
Not sure if that helps or not, but there you go :3 Neutral hunter DPS with no food and not fully buffed.

Re: Hunter dps rather lackluster?
To max BM AoE you will have to learn to use a Worm or Chimera and thrill of the hunter is a MUST for maxing BM aoe damage.
Also, as a note to an above poster saying flat out that haste is bad. No where does he/she discuss haste plateaus so i will be wearing of that. I still need to do more research before the raid Sunday so i cannot comment more.
Also, make sure your expertise/hit are capped for level 92 mobs until you go into raids...then make sure its capped for 93 mobs.

Also, something of debate in guild, but Mastery>Crit for BM now correct?

Re: Hunter dps rather lackluster?
I think Crit is still the better stat for BM. It certainly simmed out that way in beta.swimgremlin wrote:I catch myself holding onto the ghost iron dragon long because of its huge secondary stats. That alone holds me at hit/ex capped. I hate to have to start reforging, but I have the brewfest trinket and Windswept Pages now, so I'm gonna have to start looking.

Re: Hunter dps rather lackluster?
I hear conflicting things. A lot of hunters say Mastery > Crit for BM now(including my RL) but EJ and IV both say Crit > Mastery. So I'm really unsure myself.Danielfboone wrote:I think Crit is still the better stat for BM.
