Yeah something like that and of course special armored tops and the hooves shouldn't be an issue. Naga/Dryad would work wonderfully as Emerald Dream expansion playables, I think. :3Aeric wrote:I think that this would make perfect sense, adding Naga as a horde race and Dryads as an alliance race. I can't see the Naga joining the alliance, nor can I see Dryads allying with the Horde.
I've been wishing for Dryads as a playable race for years now, before we knew about the Goblins and Worgen being the new playable races, I was hoping that they would pick the Dryads.
It wouldn't be too hard to imagine ways to make armour still work on them. Dryads robes would adapt to the shape of a throw, or armour that looks almost like a saddle.

Re: Ideas for the Future of WoW
I feel like the main problem with dryads is trying to get them to work with previously established mounts. Being four legged, they'd have issues pretty much doing annnny sort of mounts going on. Naga might be able to slide if they can animate it side saddle, but even then it's very touchy and risky. And we can't deprive them of mounts just because of model issues.
I dunno, part of me deep down still would love to see a Dragon sort of class--more like people who were chosen by Dragons to do their jobs. I know it's especially unlikely now, but I could see it happening. Dragons want to completely take themselves out of mortal life, but they still need to have someone to keep an eye on things, so some sort of Watcher class or race of drakonoids or something would be spectacular.
But then again I'm just a huge dragon dork.

I wouldn't like draenei warlocks for the reasons already mentioned, and two others: (i) it's nice to retain some thematic restrictions, with draenei it's their aversion to consorting with demons, and (ii) it's just too embarrassing for a draenei when you summon your long lost cousin as a demon.
I actually thought Forsaken *could* work with the light and could potentially be paladins because of the one Argent guy that was always at Light's Hope Chapel. Sorry, I forget his name now. But maybe he was shut off from the light but still liked to help out.
I wouldn't mind seeing some of the possible-but-less-likely race/class combos as reward choices, say for levelling achievements. That way they remain rare. It's certainly possible that almost any race could be a shaman, for example, but the cultures involved just make it unlikely the average citizen would ever be able to. In each case you'd have to spin a backstory on how the character managed to stumble into the profession. But that would probably require a lot of work.
As for new races, we've just had new ones for two expansions in a row and the character screen is rather full. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see any more for a while. But I wouldn't mind trying a Tuskarr.

Re: Ideas for the Future of WoW
Forsaken priests are actually incredibly badass in official lore. They hurt themselves every time they use the light, but they suffer through it if need be. So yes, they can exist, though they're technically a bit rare.
It was answered in one of the Ask a Dev topics a while back.

Can you please explain how "light" works? The lore states that undead are physically incapable of using the light, much like the Broken, but then we have Forsaken players casting healing spells, and Sir Zeliek in Naxxramas using pseudo-paladin abilities.
Without spoiling too much, we can tell you that wielding the Light is a matter of having willpower or faith in one's own ability to do it. That's why there are evil paladins (for example, the Scarlet Crusade and Arthas before he took up Frostmourne). For the undead (and Forsaken), this requires such a great deal of willpower that it is exceedingly rare, especially since it is self-destructive. When undead channel the Light, it feels (to them) as if their entire bodies are being consumed in righteous fire. Forsaken healed by the Light (whether the healer is Forsaken or not) are effectively cauterized by the effect: sure, the wound is healed, but the healing effect is cripplingly painful. Thus, Forsaken priests are beings of unwavering willpower; Forsaken (and death knight) tanks suffer nobly when they have priest and paladin healers in the group; and Sir Zeliek REALLY hates himself.

Ah thanks Veph! I knew there was something on that topic somewhere. I remember reading that but I had forgotten where it came from.

Re: Ideas for the Future of WoW
Tuskarr, Kobold, Ogre, Quilboar, Hozen, Sporelings and reworked Taunka, are my top race picks that I'd like to see join the Horde.
For Alliance potentials, I'd like Jinyu, Broken(plenty of reasons for them to break off from the Draeni), Arrakoa, Gelkis (the centaur tribe, but cursed by the Magram warlocks into a bipedal form)
For neutrals possibilities I could see Furbolgs for sure. Timbermaw and Stillpine tribes being the two main candidates

Wow Veph, I didn't know that. Thanks for the reference!
Arakkoa really would be awesome. They even have their own dance, which is very rare amongst non-NPC races. It makes me wonder if they were originally a contender race for BC.

I love the Arakkoa. It would be easy to see them as priests, hunters, warriors, warlocks, magi, and possibly rogues and shamans. Unlike some of the other favored races they would have problems riding mounts. (Like a Naga would- although I do love naga and would play one!) Also you could really give the players a ton of customization due to the vast amount of colors, feathers and beaks you would have to work with since they are based off birds. I was a bit disappointed when we didn’t get them in Cata. =P
On a side note, as far small in-game changes would go for the future of wow- I would love to see a toy box. =3 something like a pet journal or the old key chains that you could store all your vanity items in. That way you don’t have to choose between your toys and your raid flasks when you run out of bag space. xP

Re: Ideas for the Future of WoW
I like the races we have right now actually.
The only thing I want is blood elf druids. That's all I want, quite literally.
I just want to have a pretty race that can be a druid, seeing as I like druids a lot.
Nonetheless, nice ideas. ^^
