Yay! My turn!

Apollyon - my baby and my favorite. He's got an ego but knows he's got the power to back it up. Loves to belt out a well-timed roar right after defeating enemies just to make sure they know who's boss. Fiercely devoted to Rhyela and to be quite honest, she spoils him too much.


Dante - my second spirit beast (first was Arcturis). I thought I didn't like him much when I picked up Gondria, but after seeing him everywhere in Dalaran after releasing him, I realized the err of my ways and got him back. Now he's permanent even though he doesn't see nearly as much action as Apollyon in my BM spec.


Skaza - my raiding pet. After trying out several wolves I finally decided on this skin. But when I went to look for Snarler, he wasn't up. Fast-forward a couple hours and as I'm fidding with my newly-downloaded Silver Dragon addon, he appears right in front of me! I thought it was fate, and hence his name (Slovak for "fate").


Naphthali - my surprise. I always thought spiders were cool but I always tried the tarantula model and for some reason, I just couldn't get into them. One night in ICC I saw a Blood Spider critter and fell in love with its coloration. I checked to see if there was a beast version and sure enough, there was! Originally wanted to tame Naraxis the rare but she wasn't there, so I went for a Razzashi Broodwidow instead. I never expected her to grow on me so quickly and so deeply. I wouldn't trade her for any spider in the world (or any pet, for that matter), she's my protective, saronite-defending little doll. :3


Rainey - my dream pet. Ever since I first saw this mob many years ago, I always wanted to tame her. But back then, tallstriders (among many other pets) were almost a joke due to the fact they couldn't learn any abilities besides growl and bite (actually I don't even know if she could learn bite). This was way back in the day when you had to tame other pets, use the skill until you "learned" it, then teach it to your pet. Good times. >.> Anyhow, I've wanted her for years so finally, I decided to get her. She's been in and out of my stables for a few months as I get the itch to tame something else, but now that Cataclysm and the pre-launch patch are just around the corner, any itches can wait. She's staying with me because she's a pet I've always loved and wanted and I will not risk losing her permanently (sure, there will be other teal tallstriders but they aren't the same as HER).

Gezz is named such because of what a hassle she was to tame! I was a brand new level 80 at the time, with crap for gear. Whenever she would warp, I would get stunned and the tame would stop. I think that's what happened at the time, can't really remember, but for some reason the tame kept stopping. Anywhoo, I got my friends to help me on their rogue and pally and together they stunlocked her until I could finish the tame. Lemme tell you, I was so excited! Right as the tame finished she warped and knocked me down and for a splitsecond my heart stopped. But then the gold flash went off, and she was mine!

For your signature, may I suggest a phrase that just popped into my head when I read it? "Misery loves company". Typically it's kind of a depressing phrase, but in your case, it seems perfect! Just a humble opinion, do with it what you will.

She is my newest, but quickly becoming my favorite addition so far.
When I'd first tamed her I thought it was just so I could have an interesting wolf for when I was doing boring MM huntering, but now I have her out even when I'm raiding in BM
It's also quite nice that so far she seems to be the only oil-stained wolf on my server

Yes I named him after the MK character lol
I love this guy to pieces and could NEVER get rid of him =^_^=


Krypto
I was so excited when I finally found Krush after only a couple of days of camping that I totally botched the BW/release/chug haste/tame thing. Luckily a priest in guild answered to my plight and came a runnin. The whole time I was expecting someone to show up and kill him ><

Those are all the pets in my stables now that are really worth mentioning.
Though there is one that I had to let go when I tamed Krush:

She was so much fun, and was almost like the raid mascot (she was always doing funny things like getting stuck in the doors leading to Prof P lol)
Here she is rolling her eyes as her mistress shamelessly drools over a dancing shirtless guy.

My dwarf hunter, Brinne, only has one pet, Lars.



My new nightelf, Miriadriel, has gone through several pets, and now has quite a full stable. She started with Silvan, formerly known as Timber.



Silvan ran with her until she got to her mid-twenties, at which point I really started to miss having a tenacity pet. I always prefer the way they hold agro when fighting a group of mobs.
Miriadriel tried a bunch of tenacity pets, including bears, boars, a croq, a crab, some turtles, and in my taming confusion even a bat, but nothing clicked. Then, on a whim, I dragged my husband's high level warlock off to Razorfen Kraul, where I tamed this little piggie:



It clicked right away. The color of the runes on his armor matches the haircolor of my elf exactly, and his emotes (both animations and the petemote ones) are adorable. Wibbles (as she named him) has been with Miriadriel ever since, and literally is her knight in shining armor.

At level 60 I ofcourse had to try out some of the exotic pets I tamed the Kurken, but it didn't really work for me. So for fun, I tamed an Ironhide devilsaur. It took a few tries since he kept breaking my traps and killing me, but in the end Dinky was mine:



Dinky is awesome. he's big, he's loud, he's cheerful and not too smart. The blue stipes also again match my night elf's hair, so he looks good with her too. I had a lot of fun yesterday helping my daughter in a low level area with him, watching a T rex stomp through Westfall was quite a sight to behold!
But, he is a bit big. I find it hard to look around him to see what's beside him and what's attacking him. I did like the faster killing speeed though. I thought of getting Silvan out again, but the poor thig has been retired for so long (spending his days lazing by the fire and eating doggie treats) that to drag him out to the Outlands seemed cruel somehow

So I decided to go and tame Sian-Rotam. I did the quests leading up to the summoning of his mate, Shy-Rotam, tamed a temp pet and started summoning. It didn't go as easy as I thought it would though.
The first time, we killed Shy before she got to summon Sian. So I abandoned the quest, went back to the quest giver, and started killing cats again to get the holy Meat needed to summon her.

The second time, I decided not to attack myself, but let my pet do all the work for a slower kill. She called for him once, and while I was looking for him (he didn't show, I was tracking beasts) my pet killed her.

I killed a few cats again for the meat, and resummoned Shy. This time, I got one hit in, then turned of my auto attack and let my pet do the rest. When Shy started calling for her mate, I put my pet on passive and kept healing it while Shy attacked. She called for help twice to no avail, then feared us. I ran in one direction, my pet in the other with Shy hot on his heels. Unfortunately we ran so far from each other that my pet got dismissed, and Shy reset with full health.

I was a bit miffed now, this was harder then it seemed. I summoned my pet, and started all over again. Attack, send in pet, stop autoattacking and put pet in passive, run around in circles while Shy alternatively attacked my pet, called for her mate, and feared us. After 15 minutes and several calls later, Sian still hadn't shown.
Bored with attacking my pet who wasn't any fun and wouldn't play with her, Shy attacked me instead. Because her health was so low I didn't dare to send my pet in to attack her again and pull her off me, but she was slowly chomping me to bits. By this time I was pretty fed up I tell you.
Then it came to me: I abandoned my temp, dropped a trap and started taming Shy-Rotam. I mean, leaving there alone with that no-good no-show mate of hers would have been cruel right?
Once I tamed her, I was surprised at how pretty her color really is. She became affectionate and playful right away, and really is a lovely kitty. I'm thinking of calling her Ayla or Aylawen, after my very first hunter in WoW.



My last slot will probably be a white Warp Stalker, because they are very pretty as well, but I'll need to get to level 63 first

Soo, in the order I befriended them

1. Rakeesh, my brown lynx. My raid kitty in BC and longest time best friend. "Somehow... you look so tasty today, mom!" (Me using the trinket that turns into a fish)



2. Sapphyre, my lovely Christmas present Love at first sight (here on Petopia) and not a single regret since.



3. Ulric, a color-changing worg. What made me choose this model?.. Bite animation! Ulric has been my pup since I got to 80 and snatched him from his previous master in Ice Crown. Beloved companion that will never go away.



4. Chapa the very corageous turtle that's not afraid of the mighty Magmadar! (Nor Ragna, for that matter). My soloing pet that I'll never let go either 'cause we've been through so much together. It's her luck that helped me collect Thunderfury in a mere 1.5 month and get The Eye on the very first solo Ragna kill! So she's my lucky solo charm.



5. And finally, the latest addition to the stable that quickly grew on me... Though it's been a mere week, I have a feeling that Klax is staying even if she looses her oil buff. She's got a wonderful personality and besides... She and Ulric seem to be developing a strong relationship

For Bitka, she has
Bruizer... Her main decision to become a Beast master. Saw a thread on Devilsaurs and decided to try one. She just loves him too. When he kills that last mob and come running back, he gives that “I got him” roar with what seems to be a smirk on his face. She has a hard time putting him back in the stables to play with her other companions.

Uhkloc.. Have no idea why she likes him, but she does. He's a great tank, and can look so menacing when in the battlegrounds. She likes how he leaps at the enemy. He does great in keeping mobs off of her. She just can't part with him.

Frostbite.. Why not have another exotic. Love his roar and is special ability of lightning and frost. Have a ton of fun in the battlegrounds with him. The wings… She can tolerate them. She also like his vibrant blue color.

Loque.. Wanted a spirit beast had camped for Arctius to no avail. Decided when she hit 76 that she would also look for Loque. Got him on the third day of looking for him. She hasn’t played much with him yet. She’s only had him for a week and has him sitting in the stables for the moment leveling her other companions.

PMS (aka pretty mother strider) She has always liked the tallstriders, and wanted to get clutchmother as soon as she was level 20. Has kept her through her leveling spree. She’s quirky when going against mobs.. deciding to attack another from a distance to bring them all into the fray. But she persists in getting them all down and come preening back when done grooming her feathers as she waits for then next set of mobs to attack. She’s been relaxing in the stables recently but will always be a companion.




Ximbol I have not played in awhile. Have to think of who she has
Uzzy.. Was the first pet to go for as a rare, and to use NPCScan on. I panicked when I heard the alarm go off, and I could not find her anywhere. A guildy reminded me to put track beast on, and with that, I spotted her. She been a faithful companion, and tolerates all the ximbol does to her, including making her be a pool noodle for our swimming parties. Her brilliant deep yellow color in the light is beautiful to look at.

Twitch .. The silithid ravager.. dances away by her side. Just recently acquired him and is slowly bonding with him.

Mosh.. the King of Un’Goro Crater.. And a difficult solo tame to do. It took two separate days to get him. First time he kept fearing ximbol till she ran out of all the haste pots she had. Kept getting down to 1 or 0 sec tames, but never could quite get him. Gave up after several attempts(used up all the haste pots she had). 2nd time she had added some more haste trinkets on, and had double the amount of haste pots. It took several attempts that time as well, and it was only pure luck that she got him as he has casted a fear with 1 sec to go, and Ximbol resisted it. He was then hers. He has been a great companion and because of the difficult tame she has bonded to him.

Arctius.. The bear spirit beast. Have not had a chance to play with him yet.

Sad thing is I haven’t played with her in quite a while I can’t remember what the last slot was.



Xephyr Alliance - Marksman hunter.. turning BM when level 60
Crunch.. Her first pet she got at level 10. Best BG pet around. She just loves watching him knock over those big tauren in the bgs. Still has him today, but he may molt into a silithid

Giggler – Another good BG pet she uses. Likes his plain white coat, and how he chases down the enemy.

Echeyakee – My favorite at the moment. Took me 2 hours waiting for a horde character that had the quest to allow me to tame first. Much begging and pleading… jumping up and down.. and getting killed a few times before one was nice enough to let me tame. It was a thrilling challenge tame in my eyes. And she is so glad she got him. He’s an unusual pet for an alliance character, and he seems to fit her personality.

LilNinja.. soon to become BigNinja when Xephyr turns 60. Temp pet till devilsaur time. I do like the green color.


And another temp pet till I can get me the white and blue warp stalker. This pet will be great for my dwarf hunter if and when I make one.


Think of what is going to happen when we get 25 slots. ACK… Must have more pets. 

Kazuya - Grunter - took me a few days to get him. Actually I saw that he was going to get changed so I decided to get him before Cata. When I got him I fell inlove with his antics, hes the cutest thing and my Tank for the 80s!

Sarion - Gondria - Actually I didnt think id like him because I didnt on Sas and Inny. And actually killed him once cause noone else wanted him and needed epic money for flying. My fave pet

Quick tutorial on adding the thumbnail pet images to a post. ^^

First of all, the easiest page to obtain the images is the Gallery of Pets page that lists all of them:

Now, within the reply box on the forums here you'll see a number of options just above the Message box. ^ Towards the right hand side you'll see a button that says Img. That is the button that puts an image code in your post. The code looks like this:

The text where I say 'Picture url here', the URL is the address or location of the image you want. It's very easy to get this. On the Gallery of Pets page, right click on the pet image you want and in the drop-down menu select 'Copy Image Location'. (I use Firefox, not sure if IE is different). That image location is now copied.

Go back to your reply box and hit Ctrl+V to paste that URL. You'll get something like this:

When you submit your reply the image will show up.

Only difference is that when I right-clicked the image my option said "Copy Image URL".

Oh, I've loved this thread; seeing all the different pets that we adore is lovely!

Let's see... my one time main, now retired, Aerye, has but one pet.

This is Merlyn, and he is her heart and soul-- since they're retired, I had her ride out to a clearing I loved, had Aer make a fire, put Myr on 'stay' and then had Aerye sit next to him, relaxing by the fire, forever. It worked for the night elf who could never forget all those who had died in her life, haunted by their memories to the point where playing her just was impossible.

My current main is Arisia, and her stable jumbles off and on, with Myst being the one constant:

Thanks Rhyela! I put a lot of thought behind each of my pet choices so it's very much appreciated to hear compliments like this.

As a whole, I prefer that all my pets look and feel somewhat like they belong together. I find the easiest way to do this is by color matching or by sticking to a select grouping of pet types.
