@Kalliope - You really think the pic came out well? *smiles* Thank you! I was trying to get her name in the shot without any part of it being obstructed by her wings. I would've moved to a place with better lighting, but I was about to keel over and I just went "Eh, I'll just take it here since I do that with everybody else after I tame 'em.". Eek, that really sucks that Chatter's so close to a phasing area! >_< Believe me, what I ran into concerning Olm was a very rude awakening, and I'm going to be cautious from now on when it comes to rares in zones since I definitely don't want to run into such madness again, especially not when I'm tired, believe me. I really hope this'll be fixed, and once I'm done in Felwood, I'll be sure to swing back by and see if I can see Olm or not (when he's up that is) and keep you posted. But it's definitely something that should be looked at since he's right smack in an area that phases. And, believe me, it's nice to have best friends who play druids and are willing to forgo sleep without you even asking them to. If not for her, I would've given up. and I'm just glad that the "Get that ghost owl!" madness seems to have died down, there wasn't a soul there at all besides us. @_@
@Miraga - I'm glad that didn't happen to you, believe me, it was /not/ fun at all. Hehe, I already had a very easy tame before getting Olm, because with the help of a nice goblin hunter, I was led to Broken Tooth and I ended up taming his sleepy self. ^_^
Oh, Chatter is fine! It's the unnamed Greater Tarantula who we've nicknamed Chitter who's near the phasing area in the southeast. He's still visible after questing through that part of the zone, but only from certain angles/distances.
If this tame hadn't worked out for you, I would have posted that you could drop a freeze trap into Olm's phased area and be able to trap him, even without seeing him. You'd be able to tame him once he was trapped. Glad you two were resourceful and got around the phasing without resorting to that!
Looking back over your last post, it turns out I misread the name. Whoops, sorry, Chitter! ^_^; Yeah, that's /exactly/ what happen to me with Olm early this morning, so there goes my idea of checking back in later. x_x And y'know, I remember reading about that tactic people use to tame those beetles in Uldum after the phasing, and that idea had completely slipped my mind. Yay for lack of sleep! Hehe, thanks! Though it was pretty much as frustrating as trying to guess where he'd be by dropping a trap if not more ro less so. @_@ I now worship the druid class even though I can never play one myself because I never click with them.
Yeah, they are, and I'm already bad at messing them up whenever I'm fully awake because I get /so nervous/. Heck, I almost killed King Krush the day Toph tamed him because I, for the life of me, couldn't remember to make her stop shooting and where abandon pet was for her temporary crocolisk. x_X Luckily, he lived and has been with her ever since then. ^_^ *hugs Teufel*
Believe me, you'll more than likely end up reading more amusing tames from me down the road. XD I may be a rare hunter, but I'm so spectacularly bad at it that I'm surprised that all the rares I've tamed survived the process! I still have my detailed account of taming Krush from when I first joined here, though it's lost way back in the 'Devilsaur Appreciation' thread, but I'll happily PM it to you if you'd ever like to read it.
Oh yes, I've grown quite fond of my terrible tames, just because they are so silly in hindsight! xD
Found the post! Gosh, that brings back memories of seeing Krush for the first time...all the finger fumbling. xD He's done that to me too, spawned just after I've left the area he's chosen to spawn! Sneaky devil... Can definitely relate to MASSIVE STREAMS OF COLORFUL LANGUAGE when taming him! xD You were so lucky to find an honest priest too. Squee, this brings back so many memories! xD
@Taluwen - 'sokay, we both do now at least, right? ^_^ And oh my god, Olm's so pretty in Winterspring, I love the way mine looks against the lavenderish backdrop! <3
@Kalliope - And it's always nice to look back on them whenever you're having a bad day for something to help cheer you up, too. ^_^ Awesome! It drove me insane, those five days did, but if it hadn't happened that way, Toph probably wouldn't have her Loque'nahak. *hugs Sandstorm* And, yeah, I was so afraid she was going to up and kill him after she said she needed him for Frostbitten, but I'm so glad she helped instead. I've never seen Krush whenever I've gone back to Sholazar since.
I'm gonna nab Hell-Hoot actually, I really love the way she looks and she's one of Ril's planned tames. I'm not sure about Rak as much as I've always liked her. I already have five cats that I'm really attached to and I've never seen her in the wild ever. I know, I'm nuts for having multiples of families on my hunters, but there's just so many I love and can't have just one of. ^_^;
Part of the "problem" with cats in particular is that they are so varied in color that you can tame a bunch of different cats and they feel like completely different pets, even though they have the same functionality.
I have.....seven unique cats between three characters, and I'm sure I'll end up caving and taming more at some point... This is of course terrible for me personally, since I prefer having a variety of pets. But I guess it's okay, so long as Kalliope doesn't have doubles...
I'll think about it and if she's up and I'm able to get her, I'll check and see if there's anyone who wants her before taming her myself to see if we'll click or not. I love her new skin (heck, I loved her when she was aqua, too) and, believe me, if I had it my way, I'd tame every single can skin out there because I love cats so much. They're my biggest weakness when it comes to all the pet families I'm fond of.

Yeah. It's so unfair sometimes. XD So many pretty kitties.....
