I did the racing quests! Those guys were a pain in the butt >__<;;

Ha, Azu did them when Skyshatter was stupidly bugged. He'd lag, clip through crystals and walls, fire off impossible bolts, but because I have bird form, I could be hit, bird form back, catch up with ease.

I got hit once or twice but it wasn't too bad. The hard part for me was keeping up and following them. I ended up raid marking them with something obnoxius so if I got screwed up I could find them easier.

The racing quests are apparently a lot easier now than back in BC--you used to get knocked off your mount and fall to your death when hit by the shooting stars. I remember my guildmates cursing those quests to high heaven back in the day.
