Personally, I just assume that people are playing a race, class and gender that makes them happy, and I prefer my fellow players to be happy if they can.

Once for using a 2h weapon as frost (even though I can pull more damage then a 1h duel weilding frost of equal gear/lv)
A few times over the years for being a BM hunter, several times over theyears for using a hyena and not a cat/wolf or <insert the "in" pet here>

That's just as dumb as it gets. I'm 2hf on my DKs as well, and with a matched pair of swords from the same zone as my 2h, I'm consistently 2k higher with two handed, no matter what other changes I make. People are incredibly stupid on that stuff, sometimes.

Not even touching the pet thing...if I want to play a pet but get asked NICELY, I'll change, or if I'm doing something unorthodox, I'll explain once first that it's a calculated decision. If someone starts getting nasty, I'll take my kick with pride sooner than knuckle under.

In the end, Madexx will be with me tomorrow, but the offserver tosser who doesn't understand why I made that choice for a particular fight isn't.

Not my kick, but the craziest I've ever seen would have to be a tie between my DK hubby being kicked off his first run with the weapon from the hilt last expansion for doing "too much dps", and my sister trying out various unusual ideas. She likes the unorthodox...blood dps yet lives, pdps has some points, and for a long while her pally tanked in haste/mas gear decked out for optimal self heals.

I'm healing, I'm bored outta my mind I'm needing to do so little, but she gets kicked as "bad tank". Gee...earth shield and riptide keeping her up with a surge every third pack or so is bad? Please let me have every tank be so bad!

I tend to get kicked for more mundane things...someone does something particularly stupid and I open up on them with snark. Hopefully next time they remember how embarrassed and angry doing it wrong made them.

Haha, yeah, that's pretty dumb. Although, to be fair, if the other dpsers are squishy, and the tank goes down... Healers that won't heal my pet once I start dumping threat onto it to try and finish off the trash (or even last bit of bosses) do annoy me a bit. I've saved groups before when the healer clued in and healed my pet. If the tank is still up though, I take any pet loss as inevitable if there's high AoE (only place I've seen that happen though is in ZG, with those trash mobs that do that whirlwind thing or something).

Kicking because the player is oom is incredibly stupid, but oh my god it annoys me when healers rock up and spam flash heal/regrowth/healing surge/flash of light every pull - when it's not needed - and go oom, and REFUSE to actually *play their class* properly. I mean I tend to run with my bf, who tanks, and he is a pally - one of those annoyingly well geared paladins that pretty much keep themselves alive and don't need anything past a hot 90% of the time (lol we're back to Wrath). I'm an annoyingly well geared dps that can generally solo trash packs with the right pet if need be. We're used to carrying and giving advice, and we're always nice about it ("Hey, ___, flash heal isn't really necessary or mana efficient any more, perhaps try ____ instead")... but when we give that advice, the healer still spams with 95% overheal, and we have to sit every second pull and wait for their 101k mana pool to get to full before the next pull wipes it again - I will kick. Not necessarily because of impatience - if they were genuinely under-geared and took the advice I'd be happy to wait - but because they're needlessly wasting everyone's time. X_X

That pet thing is stupid also. I feel it's the same as any other dps class. Pull threat all you want, but unless the tank is really bad, don't expect to be kept alive. (Looking at those deathgripping DK's in BC instances.)

I got a new stupid reason for a kick! Long story short...

I was a fire mage on the *last* boss of a ZG run. I got kicked for "Not Arcane". >.< /rage

The stupidest reason for an attempted kick was "lulz you do not enough dmg for your gear". This was back in Wrath, I was playing Bm (not the best dps spec at this time, but I had MM for Icecrown and went BM in heroics) and doing by far the most dmg in the group with something like 40% of all dmg. I still did have a non-raid weapon and the comment came after the first group of mobs. I just left it be and left the group along with my fiance, who was the tank after half an hour of frustrating wiping due to pulls of the "lulz" pally doing zero dmg.

The next stupid kick was not myself but my fiances druid in one of the zuls. The tank barely had tanking gear and only something like 120k life (I had more with my hunter!), the group was made up of my fiance and me and the guild mates of the tank. After a wipe at the first boss they kicked my fiance with the argument "cannot heal" - I left after this, too. I know that he really does a great healing job and it totally wasn't his fault.

An other kick hit my feral druid. It was my first time with him in the Zul with Jindo at the end (is it Gurub? I always mix them up). We had my best friend's baby at our hous to take care of her while she was at a doctor's appointment. The little one slept and we decided to do a heroic. The first boss I died, because I didn't go out of the green myst on the floor, but hey, first time as a melee for me. Then the stone-rolling troll. I NEVER manage to get through the rolling rocks, never. So I died again. The second boss went well, but I didn't do very much dmg, cause the baby woke up and I had to take care of her. After the boss I wrote in group channel to excuse me for a minute to give the little one a fresh diaper. I got kicked because of "u fail druid" - thanks, but my rl is way more important than a game.

Surprisingly, for all the instances I've done in WotLK and the few in Cata, I've never kicked. For all the nubbish things I've done though...

-Ran out of arrows several times during instances, pre-dungeon finder with my guildies. Luckily, they were all cool with it and laughed.

-Ended up doing half of CoS using my Argent Lance because I forgot to reequip my weapon. "Druid, why are you using your lance?" "Oh, hell. So that's why my DPS was so oddly low!"

-Lance thing, again, on my feral. That stupid lance was the bane of me.

-I had been running a few instances, nothing special I was mainly solo'er. I was last in DPS per usual. The group brushed it off as I was a fresh 80. I had been 80 for a few months. >.<;
