You won't be taming any exotics at 60 - in cata that ability doesn't become available until lvl 69... :?

This is probably the one thing about cata that I find massively stupid, and I suspect many if not most BM hunters (outside of Petopia) don't know about this.

I suppose they could move stuff around and make it the lvl 59 talent but I doubt they will; tame exotics currently is the flashiest thing BM has, so in that sense the 69 slot is kind of "holding it hostage"... to free it up I think they'd need to come up with something new and worthy of being a top tier talent.

Personally I'd love to see tame exotics split off into a core passive (leaving just the +4 pet talent pts as the 69 talent) so that BM hunters could actually experience exotics from lvl 10 e.g. having exotics during their adventures in the new zones instead of having to "do without" until they're long past the new content and starting Northrend.

However at this stage the only way I see tame exotics being fixed is if enough hunters raise a major fuss after cata release. Which probably would happen if we were all starting from lvl 1 and had to deal with the same issue but as it is, many will just say "meh, I'm already 80 so who cares". :(

I always wanted some exotics at lower lvls...a tiny Kurken would be adorable! Plus there's so many low lvl exotics, it's just a tease.

I have some lower lvl hunters, and when I make my worgen hunter, I'd like to be able to have an exotic at a slightly lower lvl...I mean, locks get their felguard at 50 (dunno if they still do) and it's kind of their exotic.

I posted about this on the suggestions forums a while back, by all means I'd encourage you to go and add your voice if you get the chance... at least in my view Blizz is making a bad problem (waiting till 60 for exotics) worse (pushing it to 69) when their new talent system with its core talents gives them a golden opportunity to turn it around and make it one of the things BM hunters *love* about their spec (being able to run with exotics on their baby worgen/undead/goblin hunters) instead of a /facepalm they just kind of endure for most of their leveling whilst their SV cousins are gleefully blasting away with explosive shot throughout... :|

Ok, lookin at the last forum post...has it been locked? Cause I couldn't make a reply in it (I wouldn't be surprised, that thread went downhill pretty fast with that Rankin guy). Boy, he kept presenting the same argument over and over and over, but gave no positive criticism or even a possible solution. And the one argument he kept throwing wasn't flying with ANYONE.

I know we're not a hive mind and all, but come on, when no one is agreeing with you, maybe you need to think a lil more about what you're saying.

The first post is still open so you can post there:

Or you can always start a new post! :)

As for Rankin... lol. I had to wade through maybe 3-4 pages of his denialism before I finally was able to get him to come forth with the one real reason behind his objections, which was simply that he wanted exotics to be more powerful than normals - beyond just having an extra ability, e.g. he actually seemed to agree without quite admitting so, that tame exotics was indeed too lame for a lvl 69 ability in its current form, but that he wanted it to stay there and be made more powerful instead of being split off into the largely aesthetic lvl 10 core passive that I was proposing...

Unfortunately however he didn't seem to want this enough to actually post his own thread about it (my suspicion is that his reluctance was due to a combination of general laziness and fear of being derided for bringing back "wolfism"), and so instead he just settled on coming over to attack mine... which suited me fine as I was in the mood for an argument that night...

... plus, as you noted he got the thread locked, which confirms that someone at Blizzard definitely read it... which in the end is all I can really ask for anyway. ;)

now warlocks get em at level 10 if they spec demonology

it seems so unfair that they get their special pets extremely early now

The thing is, demonology warlocks are locked into using a felguard for the most part. BM hunters don't HAVE to use exotics, since the advantages are only slight perks, rather than being a massive boost.
