Besides that, there is a World Quest that directly says that they are baby Potatoads and you have to rescue them and bring them back to their parents, which are Potatoads.

Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
Edit - thornmaws have a tail whip animation which pangolins don’t have, they also don’t sniff in the air like pangolins do, also thornmaws have footstep noises. And about choloceros, they are small when tamed, a hair smaller than the amazards, same with grovecrawlers, they could be bigger

Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
- There's only one tameable Grimlynx, and it's definitely a fun one. It's like a warp stalker on steroids with a cat's prowl for some reason, and that's crazy. Big beefy lad. Not really my cup of tea, personally, but it's a good model.
- Petalwings are very small. They also suffer from having clipped wings when tamed. This is an ongoing problem with all pets using this set of animations. Should start flying when entering combat.
- Devilsaptors have been shrunk since Valnaaros' screenshot a while back. They are now normal devilsaur size. I feel they could use a slight bump up in size though, since the shrunk bodies do look a bit blobby from a distance.
- As worg stated, Chloroceroses are definitely a bit too small. Even with Bestial Wrath and Big Red Raygun, they're small. This is likely due to them being in the direhorn family, which we know scales down a huge amount.
- Also, Chloroceroses should be renamed to Roothorns.
- Potatoads are perfect. They're roughly the same size as crawgs, and they look both lovably stupid and quite nice as they are. Chef's kiss.
- Potadpoles should be flagged as Florafaun hoppers. Expect this to be a recurring point I bring up until launch or (more correctly) they become flagged.
- Mandragoras are definitely my top pick of the expansion, but as stated pages ago, the old mandragora model needs to use the newer lightbloom animations to fix the caved in heads. Maybe a tiny size boost, too.
- Saptors are perfect. I didn't think I'd like them as much as I do. The maroon color has really grown on me.
- Thornmaws are my least liked mob. I just can't get invested in them. That being said however, they are quite sizeable, so they stand out nicely. While I don't care for them, they're a good size.
- Grovecrawlers are weirdly placed in the serpent family, but they don't fit anywhere else. Also, as worg mentioned, they are way too small. At level 88, they're as small as a level 10 hunter pet.
- Sporegliders, the only non-florafaun pet other than Rhazul, have easily become my favorite pet. I just love how big they are, being large enough to feel present while being manageable in size to not be in the way.
- Also, Sporegliders should be renamed to Sporehawks.
- Mire Stalkers are still sadly not flagged, and I hope having reported every instance of the model I've run into helps their chance of being flagged even by a little bit.
@worg: The purple head and blue body is in. It's in a pretty unmarked location, but it's in there unless you mean a color not shown on the Petopia page.

- I assume it is, since it's the only purple headed skin.

Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
EDIT: Yeah, they were absolutely changed. They're now the same height as regular hydras. They still have the goofy clipping issue with the jaw on the middle head, and that makes them look a little smaller, but proportionately? They're equal now.
EDIT 2: Added a comparison. I took screenshots during the little pause they do after doing their head argument animation while at the same camera angle and location, and aside from the sunken middle head, plant hydras are properly scaled with normal hydras. Now we just need to get their middle heads fixed!

- Lines showing the height of their "shoulders", base of their feet, location of the neck base, and height of one head. Middle head is sunken down on mandragoras, but surely this can get fixed.

As far as I know, there are tamable pink ones unless something has changed.
Yeah, there should be at least two NPCs that use the pink variant that should be tamable.

As for the pink unicorns, I've not seen any in the wild except the friendly ones. I think pink might've gotten friendzoned.
EDIT: Yeah. Roving Springrunner used to come in four colors (green, blue, pink, and yellow), but now it's only green and blue.

Yes, he is recorded. There are several rays that use it that variant in all zones except Harandar.WerebearGuy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 1:40 pm Have we recorded this fella? Vicious Ray, has the unused teal and yellow look.
