Hmmm... yeah, I could see that with horses, although a good old fashioned warhorse would come pretty close to being a "predator" - they were bred and trained to be absolute monsters on the battlefield... but horses are such an iconic "mount" creature that I don't think I could ever get used to the idea of them being pets on a gut level... that extends (for me) to most anything with an "equine" sort of build e.g. stags, zhevras, giraffes, talbuks et al...Taluwen wrote:The fact is...it's not weak because I think they're keeping it realistic on that level. A hunter MOUNTS a horse and rides it. A horse has no hunting instincts what so ever because they don't hunt. They flee if a predator is near. They only fight if necessary, which against a well armed, pro predator....the horse would be killed. So equines are kinda out of the question and I see why it wad denied. It'd be cool but it wouldn't make any sense. :/ Most if not all the pets we can tame are predators of some sort or have some sort of way to fight. Equines don't really have much. They were meant to run. Running really doesnt help the hunter much.Bundia wrote:Zhevra and other ungulates! I thought we were going to get these with the Exotic Pets talent back when it was first mentioned in Wrath Beta and was crushed that it never happened. I've never really understood why we couldn't tame them to be honest. The whole "they're a mount" argument seems weak to me.
I agree with Hydras. But I'd like Zhevras the most. I think I'd give my entire stable for one. I'm an equine lover!
That's just two cents from another equine lover. I love me some horses. I'd never send them into the jaws of death.
I would be okay with shoveltusks though; having humanoid faces seems to be enough of a departure from the equine look to make it work, when I see one patrolling with a wolvar master.
