Have to remember Nachtwulf....my phobia gets the better of me sometimes. I felt bad for the spider so I put it in a old cage my bf use to made for wolf spiders.

I'm still scared of it getting loose but i made a little green forest for it. Taking care of it for a while.

Aww, an aphonopelma! Though admittedly I can't tell by the picture if it's aphonopelma chalcodes or aphonopelma hentzi. The a. chalcodes typically have more blonde on the legs. Both are typically relatively docile, so if you were to ever see one, you wouldn't really need to worry too much. :)

The big hairy spider are not so bad, however if seen a Huntsman spider in my house, I would totally loose it.
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?

I'm actually not sure what kind of tarantula that is aside from 'local to where I live'. All of our shaggy hairballs look about like that though... sort of generically brown and not as big as a lot of the showier non-native species.

And yeah, they're pretty placid, but they'll flip hair at you like mad if you scare 'em.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

.... I had a tarantula once. A rose-haired tarantula my brother left behind. It was as big as a saucer plate thing.. Okay, I'm good with it being in the glass case, aquarium thing, and being in my room. But when it taught itself HOW TO PUSH OPEN THE TOP.

/heart attack /heart attack /coronary /heart attack /heaaaart attack

I was hysterically CRYING for my mom to get it out of my room. @______________________________________@ My tolerance can only go so far.

I have seen a video on youtube of a brachypelma smithi (Mexican red-knee or something like that, one of the most commonly-used tarantulas in movies and commercials) using opposite force to open its tank, or something like that. It wasn't as simple as just crawling out of a lid. Think things like pill containers and such where you pull down on the bottom portion and push up on the lid to open it. It actually did that with a tank lid! I don't know how intelligent insects and arachnids can be, but that showed more than just adaptation and basic survival instincts, it was like it actually learned how to open a tank. Absolutely incredible, if you ask me. :D

It is worth watching, it makes you think. :) Well, it made me think, anyway.

I think I'd panic and kill the poor thing if it did that...

Next thing you know spiders will learn how to drive cars.
