PTR Deathmaw.... :(
I was on the PTR this morning with Saffie and decided to just check out the rare in The Burning Steppes. Here is a screeny...
Even the link on Petopia's pet site doesn't look as bad as the PTR at the moment - Deathmaw
Why o Why blizz, do Wolves have to look like this? I know the Wow Engine isn't the best out there but come on Even the link on Petopia's pet site doesn't look as bad as the PTR at the moment - Deathmaw

Re: PTR Deathmaw.... :(
Actually all wolves are like that in live. I've noticed it too.
Re: PTR Deathmaw.... :(
Pardon the confusion, but could you explain what the problem is? All I see is a very close look at a worg's flank, which is admittedly not the prettiest view, but I don't see any glaringly errors. Graphical glitch of some sort?

Re: PTR Deathmaw.... :(
It's more obvious on the white worgs, but on worgs the unsightly 'edging' that cropped up on some 2D hair/fur since a 'recent' patch (I think it was 4.0, but I'm not sure) is especially visible. Even my hunter isn't immune...
Edit: Look for the bottom edge of the visible hair. Even though the older screenshot has lower quality graphics, it lacks the 'outline' that the edge of the recent one has.

Re: PTR Deathmaw.... :(
look at the edges of the fur in the tail and the mane, its fugly
they broke the graphics around the time of the shattering/end of ICC.
first noticed it on my BarkyDoggy (alpha barking wolf from Mulgore), they kinda fixed it on the normal wolf/coyote models
i looked up a few ss of the different wolves from wowhead
deathmaw with bad graphics

old cliff jumper pre-bad graphics, look at the dates of the ss, and you'll see the newer pics have the rough edges

It's disappointing to see such a huge graphical glitch on the worgs and coyote wolves. Hopefully they'll get around to fixing it.

Yes, unfortunately that is not a new glitch. The Worgs on live have those outlines, though the good news is the coyote models were fixed.

Re: PTR Deathmaw.... :(
I'm still not 100% sure what problem you're referring to. If it's the dark edge on the transparency of the texture, then that's because the color that's hidden via transparency on the texture sheet is dark. When you tell a texture to be transparent there is often bleeding where the two colors meet. Blizzard should have added a couple pixel buffer zone around the edge to avoid this. If the problem you're talking about is the sharp, jagged edges of the fur, then that's because the resolution of the texture is low. In order to fix that Blizz would have to completely redo each texture.
As for this being different than before a certain patch, I don't see how that is possible. But maybe I misunderstood?

Re: PTR Deathmaw.... :(
They definitely changed something in a recent patch to cause it. I used to love fluffy worgs, and now I have to make an effort to run with one out for very long because the odd edges bug me to death. This makes me pretty sad, as I'd like to play with Tufani's Deathmaw more.
