Drakes making idle noises?!

Unread post by Lisaara »

Since when?! My friend Lucas and I are sitting on our Bronze Drakes, camping Madexx, and suddenly, after being idle for a bit, they start roaring and making noises on their own! I thought I was crazy but Lucas said he saw/heard it too!

Do they? I'll have to listen next time I'm sitting around on my dragon!

try
/mountspecial

works best when on the ground. All mounts have some form of idle animation some just take longer to do it then others.

lol looks like I was beaten to it :)

I think the drake mountspecial has a very flashy roar with spread wings. I don't think that one randomly plays, but I'm not sure.

I know the random one is a roar sound with a headshake isnt it? asides from the normal looking back and forth.

No, the drakes will not idly do their mount-special. They will shake their head from side to side, dunno if I've ever noticed a noise accompanied with it though.
The proto-drakes have an idle that makes noise that they do occasionally.

Edit: So far Venjin's blue drake hasn't made a peep while idling.

We werent doing the specials. They were making odd and random roaring sounds but seems after we dropped group, they stopped. But in a group, they kept doing it.

Male Worgen have a bug where they are idle, they howl using the mount roar of whichever mount they are on, didn't recall it happening on my female, but I tested it on all of my mounts and also saw someone on Invincible in SW that howled with the horse's whinny. Not sure about any other races, but it happens on male Worgen for sure.

Yeh it is so weird. I was confused while on my DK, the roar when on the Netherdrakes is just plain obnoxious, since they can idle roar multiple times in a row, and that particular drake has a loud, tinny growl compared to the other drakes. Riding on a horse mount yields the most hilarious results though. I checked the bug forum, no one posted about it, so I don't think many people even noticed. Very odd.

I'd love if all mounts did that but not so often.

Maybe that's what happened when I was out looking for Terrorpene.
I've been helping my friend camp the fire turtle for a bit now. Well, he qued in for a dungeon so I sat out waiting. I was sitting on my Drake of the North wind when I heard this odd roar type noise. Immidate hunter reactions took over and I started frantically looking for Terrorpene with no luck... but perhaps that roar was my dragon? o.o'

Could it be that dragon mounts make noises when idling in a group with another drake mount? Like they are communicating? Just a though.

I've never noticed any idling animations on my drakes, but when flying, sometimes they lean their head to the left side, as if to take a left turn. They also make very weird noices, makes me wondering if they have some sort of syndrome. Very annoying. :p
