But on a serious note, it probably depends on the server. The rare pets I hardly see out in public on Scarlet Crusade are Olm, Uhk'loc, the wasps Zora/Rex, and probably Madexx.. which is ironic considering how many I've tamed/given away, but ya I still almost never see a Madexx running around if its not mine or one of my fellow rare hunter friends that I've met recently.

Krush might make my list. Come to think of it I used to see him way more back in WotLK, but not so much since Cata was released. Everyone wants to play with their new Cata tames, which I cant blame them for heh.

Krush, Aotona, and Madexx. Krush because I've only seen him once alive, once dead. I've never seen Aotona alive or dead. All three are rarely seen by a hunter's side on this server Alliance-side...in fact, I gleed at a hunter on Silvermoon the other day because she was carting around a Madexx that I hadn't given to her!

I'd have to say Krush, Loque (for me anyway) and Madexx.
Krush - Because I've only seen him twice...Once in the middle of being murdered by a member of the opposing faction, and the second time just walking along his merry way until I put a leash on him and fed him some cookies. [:

Loque - Also only seen twice while camping for him for over a month. I came across him once and it was just his corpse...his poor, beautiful corpse. I swear he's the only time I've ever cried in this game from seeing a dead pet. D: That was such a bad day....second time, mine mine mine. I squealed in my chair and scared the bahjebus out of my husband when I got him. lol.

Madexx - I originally didn't want him, so I never camped him. One day while looking for camel figurines, I saw him out of the corner of my screen. At first I didn't believe it because I'd seen so many people talking about their camping adventures and so many people still doing so with no luck. He was even the green one that I thought was pretty and matches my Goblin very well. I have to say he's one of the top most rare pets because I've read about how difficult he's been for people to get to spawn, whether it be color or just at all.

Other than that...I really can't think of any super hard ones.
I guess you could say Old Cliff Jumper...everything I read about him said he had a 21 hour spawn timer and I just had to have him....he continues to stay by my side [:

Ugh....Time Lost Proto Drake. He's a pain in my arse.

As for pets, Madexx if you're looking for a specific skin. King Krush, mainly because he's huge and easy for others to spot. Skoll, I camped him for a month and I've seen him 3 times in my few months of Time lost camping.

The most rare are the AQ40 Boss sithilids.. I have Princess huhuran and Lord Kri. Pluss both the hYdra and slime crocko's

Definitely the mount rares, although if you mean only tameables, has to be Madexx. I've never seen him in the wild. Even on the PTR, and that's saying something. I don't look for him too hard, and I don't camp for him, but he's still the only one I've never seen.

Yeah, Madexx definatly, I have only ever seen my 4 and then one other person with a green. Nothing else. I've only seen a handful of Karomas too, and Krush barely ever.

Madexx- seen only once (as a tamed pet in org).
The Spirit Beasts: Skoll, Arcturis, Gondria, Karoma, Ghostcrawler. (Loques still overused).
Krush- seen him 4 times myself but only once before i tamed and maybe a total of 6 times for the past 8 months.
Aotona- Never seen in-game before.
Spiteflayer- Found him and was brutally murdered sometime after, homed him to a friend, found him on my hunter and killed him since no one in zones surrounding blasted lands wanted him and i wash oping for a Flawless whatever-its-called for a rare item since i was horribly poor (which did drop, got a polearm that i sold for 130g).
Hydra/Slime- Never did/have done the quest, dunno even what the quest is called for starters.. never seen them in-game.
Snort the Heckler/Ravage- Found Ravage once and there was an ally killing hyenas close by so i kited him around a mountain but the dude found and killed. I got the loot seeing as i kited him. (just looked at their page, apperently theres purple commons in Tanaris o_O)
Slaverjaw- I havent seen a red hyena since the shattering! (just looked at their page, apperently theres some in uldum o_O i dont recall seeing any when questing)

Theres a lotta rares I havent seen much of so the list could go on foreeever but these ones specifically i felt like mentioning

madexx: i only see a blue and a green madexx from time to time, and it's always the same two people
krush: i never see anyone else with krush, and i get a lot of compliments when i have mine out.
spiteflayer: never seen anyone with him at all, and he's never there when i look
aotona: i used to trip all over this bird when herbing in wrath, so many times that i finally killed it for frostbitten without feeling bad (i did check for hunters first!) but somehow i never see anyone else using one. i spent a huge chunk of change on a hyacinth macaw to match this beauty!

I never EVER see any Madexxes on other hunters, I see dozens of Sambas' and Karomas tho

Krush actually seems to be the most common Devilsaur to have out on my server! I've seen 4 or 5 other hunters with him, and it makes me happy. My favorite-named one is DrSwag, for whatever reason.

I've yet to see a hunter with Madexx, come to think of it.

Aotona is definitely on the list. I've only ever seen her once, and she was tamed. Spiteflayer and Olm too, now that I think about it.

I've only ever EVER seen Aotona twice. First for taming, second for Frostbitten. I've seen more Loques, Krushes, Madexxes and everyone else combined than I've seen Aotona. And I've only seen her on another hunter - once. SO that makes it 3 times in the (almost) 3 years I've been playing. Heck, I've even seen TLPD more often than her.

I think people are taking this two different ways: the hardest to find amidst rare pets... or... the least seen in public. Both answers work, but I am curious which way you were asking heh (oh, and in terms of hardest to find and tame, I had the most trouble with Gondria, Krush, and Sambas)
