They are listed as 'tameable', but when you attempt to tame them, you get the 'already controlled' message.

Oh, sorry....Petopia listed them as untamble, there should be a side note there saying there's a Beat Lore error or something.

It's not an error, as such; some mobs that are already the pets of other mobs can't be tamed because they're "already controlled." Sadly, killing their "owners" won't make a difference :(

Not to be patronizing, but this is a classic example of why you should try actually taming whatever beast is in question; all you need to do is successfully get a tame started in order to verify.

Thanks for sharing, regardless!

Why do I get the feeling that Ache's been busy in the "killing owners" department?

I figured this one was like the ghost boar in RFK, it too used to say "Already Controlled" thats why I didn't bother trying to tame it. My personal stable was full and I didn't feel the need to abandon one of my babies to test it. Next time I'll just hold off and wait for another to post about it.

In that case, just ask for verification! Or, in this case, make an alt on Nesingwary, raise him/her to level 10, and go try for yourself. Might want to join the guild while you're at it 8-)

Already have an alt, hes Tuq, hes in the guild. I was in the middle of something with a friend, I spotted the wolf started thinking "hey that ghost boar is a controlled pet and hes tamable now, wonder if this guy got changed too..." Beast Lore'd it said tamable, figured it was the same as the boar, posted. I'm sorry I made a mistake, it won't happen again, like I said before, I'll just let other people post about in-game finds, I'll just go back to being the little trow that I am.

Well, you could always give taming a try, and maybe you're right, and you can prove us all wrong. :D

I make a point of trying to tame something nowadays before saying 'Tameable', unless it's very obviously *not* controlled by something. i.e. walking around by itself and not with something. Learned that with the Angered Aarakora Protector, who was listed as 'tameable' for *EVER*. Like... since 2.4 or so when I first saw it and tried to get me one.

Hey, don't feel bad! You're encouraged to post about this stuff. If you're right, then you've just contributed to Petopia; if wrong, then you've learned something new. In this case, you learned not to always believe what Beast Lore says.
