I got SKOLL today! Literally not five minutes ago!

I've been just doing a couple passes every day taking a look for him. I wasn't really desperate enough for him to uber-camp in a huge session, but I figured I'd swing by every coupla hours while doing reading homework or something.

Anyway, I logged on after leveling Taigi some and did a quick pass. First spawn point, nothing. Second spawn point, nothing. Third spawn point--also nothing. I think, "Oh well. Time to go do homework," and then, BAM! BAM! He just APPEARS right in front of me! NCPScan (which I had just downloaded recently, all for him) suddenly starts screeching at me as I see him walk right out of thin air.

PANIC! My poor bronze drake did a double-take-spin-around that looked very very painful. I slam down into the ground, hastily dismount and--wonder wtf I'm supposed to do. Oh, RIGHT. Ice arrow first. Miss him. damn. Then he wanders back into the trap--thankfully--right about the time that I find my Tame Beast button. Tame tame tame tame please don't let anybody show up and gank him tame tame tame--MINE!




So psyched to get this guy, he's always been my favorite of all the spirit beasts! I am now satisfied on spirit beast quota, as I am not really interested in Gondria or the bear whose name I can never say

I fully understand that thrill as Skoll was likewise my most wanted Spirit Beast. What a rush it gives you, haha I'm reliving it just reading your post here. ^.^

Aha, I love that feeling of your brain just totally shutting down in the face of an epic tame - lets you know you're a true hunter. xD I also love the rush of gratification you get afterwards...even if you were only intending to casually search, as soon as you see him by your side you suddenly realize how much he means to you and how amazing it is that you finally have him. At least that's what I get sometimes. (*cough* Loque *cough*)

Eee he's so gorgeous, are you keeping his name Skoll or choosing something else?

I got a drow language theme going with Silinrul and all her pets (with the exception of Malcolm the Wasp lol, but he's mostly a joke). So I'll probably give him a drowish name too, but my brain is so frizzled from the tame I need to calm down and think about it first XD

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot. After I tamed him, and stopped spazzing over the fact that I TAMED him, I listed in general his time of spawning. And another hunter actually thanked me *all proud of self*

Yaaaaay! Huge congrats to you! He is a nifty guy, even though I'm not fond of blue or the northrend worgs. But I do admit that he's unique and definitely an eye-catcher, just not for me. Very glad you found him and yeah, I can totally relate to the "DURRRR, what do I do now?!?" feeling. Seems like I know where all my skills are - that is, until I want to tame someting. Then it's "HOLY CRAP, WHERE'S MY TAME BUTTON?!" *panic*

Exactly.

And if I plan to tame something, I can usually pop off the moves I need in rapid succession. Like the wasp I got a week or two ago. Ice trap, tag, tame, bam bam bam, easy as pie, almost boring.

But when it came to Loque'Nahak and Skoll...it's like I was a nub all over again lol.

Also, my Skoll is now named Altonin, which means "lightning lord" in drow (though he will probably rapidly obtain the personality of his semi-namesake, Lightning Lord Ginji Amano

Side affects may include headaches, mild depression, and obsessive playing of single characters. Altonin is not for everyone. Stop taking Altonin and consult your GM immediately if you have a WoW session lasting more than 10 hours.

I think all rare beasts have a special ability that makes hunters forget how to tame beasts.

I can relate to not really looking or camping for pets. Loque I just sat in a spawn point and checked every hour. Got him after a day. Iorek wasn't even a rare. Rak'shiri was the only pet I recruited help for/did serious camping.

And yeah, I'm kind of after Skoll. More of a 'What they hey. Free stable slot, I'm bored. Why not?' I'll likely name him Apollo since my Loque is named Artemis. xD

Haha, well I'm all set on the drugs now. I've never really been fond of either of the see-through spirit beasts, so I have no desire to get them.

Now I just gotta figure out what to do with my last stable slot...I have Jia (my 34-80 pet that I will never, ever get rid of--a Hyena), my white devilsaur Felyndril, and Rhlynar (Loque'Nahak) and Altonin (Skoll). They're all Ferocity, so perhaps I should consider a Tenacity pet as my last...
