WoW Model Viewer help

Unread post by Chimera »

How do i make the background transparent? I cant give it a background of my choice and it doesnt even accept backgrounds from its own program, it only lets me change the background color :/ Anyone know whats wrong or can help?

Pick some odd color like pink, use the Magic Wand and then just delete the pink in your program.

I also exist on DeviantArt.

Wow Model Viewer itself cannot render a transparent background, you have to use a separate program to do that. Usually it works best by making the WMV background colour something that isn't present on the model, that way you can use a Magic Wand type of tool in a graphics program to select the bg colour and remove it that way.

Depending on how finicky you need the pose to be, you can pick out your model, pose it as you want, then File -> GIF/Sequence Export, enter a bunch of frames (say 15 for shorter animations, 30 for more involved ones), and check "Transparency" and "PNG Sequence". You'll end up with however many frames you picked as individual .png files spanning the entire animation. Pick out the one you like best and voila, image with a transparent background.

Again, this only creates .pngs, and if you need your pose to be super precise it might not work. I got decent results when I was making my current sig, though-- even with the ravager's odd-tempo SpecialUnarmed animation.

Maybe he was there the whole time lurking behind the signature, and he only just crawled over now? :3

lol -completely didnt notice the spider- o.o and another odd thing im finding with the model viewer, i go to the dragons, i position them, i try to save and the models and they lose stuff. Undead ony/nefarion lose their entire bodies except for a tiny bit of armor and glow, frostbrood wyrms lose the embranes in their wings, other models wont show up at all.. no idea whats wrong :(

Shot in the dark, but maybe it's related to transparencies or spell effects? No idea beyond that.

And your sig's lovely, glad to see you got it to work!
