What exactly does this mean ? Is this a blanket thing for anyone on the entire forum or specific people ?

EDIT: Firefox is saying it's Authorized not "Authorised"

Yeah. The American way and the European/Everyone Else Really way of saying it.

Like realise and realize. My Firefox says the first is invalid, but it's an okay way of spelling. Authorize, Authorise. My Firefox says the second is spelled incorrectly.

Silly Americans. We're so desperate to be different. :3

(The change was made by folks in the UK back in the 16th century or so, from -ize to -ise, to be cool and trendy and French or something, -ize was the original version

)

On-topic, I assumed it meant the thread was deleted--I'd gotten it a couple times--until refreshing the page made it show up again. Not sure what it means either.

It means that the page was moved to the mod forums to be taken care of silently. Probably from all the religiously overtoned nonsense.

Well I protested very loudly about the pictures (Intentionally in the thread) and even sent Mania a message about how strongly I felt against the pictures in there. I ended up pissing some people off doing so but I don't care. The end result was the entire thread just moved without any notice as you said.

Actually it means the thread was moved to the mod forum to be taken care of by me personally. Unfortunately I wasn't available yesterday.

It does highlight a problem, though - when a thread is locked, there is still a thread to post to and explain what is going on. But when a thread is moved there isn't. Hmm ... Maybe if we post to the thread, then split the rest into a thread in the mod forums and leave the last post ... I'll have to play with that.

Is it possible to just change the message?

Instead of "You are not authorized to read this forum" perhaps it could say "This forum has been set aside to be moderated" or some such?

Just a thought, not sure if it's possible what with the forum pre-sets

So instead of having to split threads and make extra posts, I was suggesting that the message could just be changed as a heads-up to posters. Not sure if it's possible though.

No, that was at you.

See, the thing is, when a thread is moved to the mods, it's MOVED. Basically, the only way to go to it is to either have it up all along and refresh, or bookmark it or something. To go to that specific address, as opposed to browsing to it through the lists. The message only shows when you do that, since otherwise you just can't get to the thread.

Erm, I imagine that most people are getting it when using the browser's autocomplete to visit a previously-visited thread. I know I am. I assumed that was the point of this thread--wondering what the message meant when the OP attempted to access a thread, and got that message?

I'm just suggesting that RATHER THAN splitting threads and so forth, just changing the message may be easier.

(Edit--and I don't see what was "correctly spelled" O.o)
