This x a million. I don't know why people give him such a hard time, he's done a crapton to make Blizz more open and interactive with its clients. I also have no doubt that he has a hunter.

Yeah, hearing the backstory about his name/crab of choice, it really sounded to me like he's in our corner.

People tend to blame him as one of Blizzard's mouthpieces for pretty much every decision made that they don't like, regardless of whether GC is responsible for it or not. It's obnoxious.

I don't do it to be obnoxious. It's more of the fact he's being their messanger for the bearing of bad news to classes and he half the time doesn't seem to try and read up and learn about what he should know before posting.

I mean I think he pretty much told Balance druids to reroll Resto for PVP in a L2P tone so. Yeah. That's not respectful.

I may not like certain speccs of classes or certain classes at all but I'm not gonna say a flat out of 'QQ moar than respecc' basically.

And while I admit he is better than the dev that tried to claim our, lol, rotation was Autoshot and Arcane with a dashing of Serpent Sting when Growl was broken and blamed Growl being broken on us actually out threating our pets- he still has his faults and when they show, they show with the screaming wails of a thousand newborn neon lights.

Just sayin.

I'm not saying he's perfect. I'm just saying that of all of the visible Blizzard staff, he seems to be taking a disproportional amount of verbal beatings for his mistakes, simply because he's visible.

On that note, I'd like to see his post in the thread regarding owls/trees and PvP.

And as another side note, there are PLENTY of instances in which the WoW community at large doesn't DESERVE the respect that it ought to get as paying customers. Just because we're paying good money to play, it does NOT give us the right to immediately jump into the fray shouting profanities in all caps at the staff, just because we're not getting our way.

Not that that's always the case. But oftentimes, the "polite discourse" is merely a thinly veiled grumbling about our viewpoint not being seen/understood/accepted.

At any rate, the amount of times we're disrespectful to GC and the rest of the Blizzard staff as a community FAR outnumbers the instances they disrespect us. We get to hide in the masses. They don't. Doesn't make any of it right, but these things DO happen. It's the internet.

I haven't seen this particular exchange, though) it's been in response to either high-pitched, frenetic QQing or direct attacks on GC. I'm pretty sure I'd be pissed too...

Anyway, I didn't mean to imply that anyone in particular is a GC-basher, I meant it in very general terms. I have no problems with the guy overall, he's human like the rest of us, and like the rest of us (even the ninjas and QQers. Yes!) he deserves respect. In my opinion, at least.

Actually I don't think this was in response to QQing or attacks but people pretty much demanding wtf/explination for wtf to do etc. Or infact it was in the post he made on their forums or something. Idk it was awhile ago and I just remember Ariamodasu getting mad and ranting in msn basically because she linked it to me and yeah GC had pretty much said 'lol we know boomkin is broken but we're not bothering to fix it. You want to really pvp? Roll resto, kkthxbai'. Maybe not to that extent but it was stinging nontheless.

I mean it was probably the same as when Blizzard said; Hey we know BM is broken, but hey guyz you have SV and MM to specc into!, now understand? The snarky coments don't always have to be in response to QQ from people wanting eazy moades.

And I'm not saying I attack him, far from it. I know what it's like to be in his position and be attacked just because I was attackable when others were not. S'why I'm saying what I'm saying. Though it doesn't stop me from nerd raging when he does slip up and say something stupid outside of the 'I'm a simple Messenger' sort of deal :|

Edit: To clear it up I have a love/dislike relationship about GC. I love him[ or atleast like him really] when he's smart or is giving good news, or non nerf news. And Dislike him when he's the bearer of nerfs or bad news or just puts his foot, into his mouth.

(Sorry for the editorial ellipses, but I wanted to pare that sentence down into ultimate agreement. )

I'd love to see him communicating with players via some other, less immediate, means. I think a dev blog where he presented what they're doing and responded to legit questions would be great. I think letting him run about the forums occasionally snarking at players and locking random threads is not the best use of him.
