All of you seem to have spent HOURS camping your pets. Me? I fly over it, nah it's not there, I go look for another. Either that or I do BGs with my friend while I'm waiting. I'm not the patient type ^^
Here I'll be posting my adventures finding rare pets and successful tames, so each time I don't have to write a new topic. I'll start with an old one I had in my very first thread here on Petopia:
Loque and King Krush
"Well I was questing in Sholazar Basin (I've been trying to get to Revered with the Oracles) and all of a sudden I look down and THERE WAS KING KRUSH. I'd been dreaming about taming him, but never really gotten down to it, I always seem to be busy one way or another (holidays, dungeons, quests, guilds, PvP, gear, alts, etc. -.-). So here I was, and I could tame him now I was 80, but I knew it wouldn't be easy. So you know what I did? I flew down and tried to tame him. Yup thats right. As it turned out several repeated attempts at this and the only thing I got was damaged armor and several runs from the graveyard
So one time I rezzed and started chasing him, when I noticed out of the corner of my elven eye, the spirit leopard, the OTHER pet I had really wanted. My face: <Sees Krush> o_o <Realizes who he is, tries to tame> 0_0 <Sees Logue'nahak> O_O
I tamed 'Nahak, then sadly had to abandon my fox Whitetail (ok ok so I kept him for the dance, big deal :\) so I could tame Krush. I tried it one more time and resulted in X_X. Then I called on my 84 pally friend Treezap.
EDIT: I forgot to add when Treezap first came there was an 80 Tauren shaman attacking King Krush, I was like OMG OMG QUICK KILL HIM! The shaman was probably like "Whhaat? Why they kill me so fast?!" lol.
I tried taming him again with Treezap's heals, and I almost got him but Krush feared Treezap then killed me. How wonderful. The sixth attempt (after repairing on my Traveler's Mammoth) and turns out pallies CAN be useful for other things than jumping off cliffs with their shields, having golden wings, and all in all being smug 'n' macho. ^_^
Well he healed me in time to save my life, and right when I was about to die again (he didn't have time to heal me, I had like 1k/14k health left) he stunned him and I got to keep taming him. At first I thought I had lag, and that all of a sudden I would insta-die (I have that occasionally), but instead he shrunk and stepped next to me.
I yelled capital letters in guild chat, I was so excited. I probably told every friend online what just happened, and that I just got both pets in like 5 minutes
Then I named King Krush Krush (King Krush to just Krush) because I had some pet renaming licenses a friend gave me, and I knew I'd probably want to rename him later anyway.
The spirit leopard I named "Skytear." A perfect fitting name, don'tcha think?
"Ghostcrawler
Well, I decided to look for Ghostcrawler since Litlemouse reached 85 the other day, and I was swimming around the area casually randomly clicking my macro "Ghost-finder" (/target Ghostcrawler) because my Silverdragon addon hasn't been working very well lately (it goes off wayy too late
) I did some arenas and BGs with my friend Treezap (who made an account here recently! Yay! ) Suddenly I targeted him. I was like OMG because I had to leave for a piano lesson (dangit!!!) like AT THAT MOMENT. I landed next to him, dismissed my pet, and started taming him (no not with the Freezing Trap -.- I don't use that, I always forget ).But Treezap decided he would heal me, and everything got confusing then. Ghostcrawler went after Treezap, breaking my tame, and eventually we ended up dead. I didn't want to waste time going slowly all the way back over there, so I rezzed at the Spirit healer, repaired my armor on my mammoth, and mounted my seahorse going as fast as I could.
Several times I found him again, but he disappeared before I could tame him.
Finally, I KNEW I had to leave for my lesson, and I was very sad, I started the log-out countdown (20. 19. 18. 17.) when Treezap yells "HERE HE IS I FOUND HIM!" I decide to give it one more shot, and swam down quickly. "OK, Treezap, DON'T heal me this time, OK?" I started taming him, and he didn't disappear, and I survived with like 3k (or was it 30k?) health left.
I was SOOO happy! Yay!I named him Deepmoon.
Hawkbane-Today!
Well, inspired by none other than Toph (of course), I decided to go see if I could find him over in Terokkar. After flying around for 10 minutes trying to find his spawn location (they haven't updated the location on Wowhead yet :O ), I finally found it thanks to some directions and hints from Toph that nudged me the right way. Finally, I flew behind a building and POW there he was. Tamed him along with these photos:
Arcturis, Gondria, and Skoll-Today!
Right after I tamed Hawkbane, I decided to go for some more rares, this time the spirit beasts in Northrend. I bought a flightpath to Grizzly Hills, and even though I'd checked several times before and no luck, POW there was Arcturis o_o
I decided to fly over Zul'Drak to look for Gondria, first spawn point POW there she is 0_0 I realized I had to make more room for pets, and the slots I had were filled up of ones I wasn't gonna dump- King Krush, Ghostcrawler, the new Arcturis and Gondria, and of course Hawkbane :O as fast as I could I flew to the nearest stable master.
Testing my luck one more time, I headed for the last rare Northrend pet I needed- Skoll in Storm Peaks. First spawn point POW there he is O_O
TAMED!
As Toph said, maybe Hawkbane's a very lucky kitty
Will post pictures of the found pets here later
I will update this thread with new stories when I get them.
