I've spent some time looking for a name for my pride of Bethekk, and found this great database of animals used in culture, fiction, games, you name it! It's even classed by biological categories, so I went to the wild cat one and found the name of Guenhwyvar.

Drizzt Do'Urdens cat! Yes if I had one I'd name it that definately the only more fitting cat for that name would be the actual black gem cat. I've read all of the books and Guenhwyvar I will warn you now is reserved because it is copyright you have to alter it in some way. Or you could call your cat Guen which is her nickname as Guenhwyvar is a female. Guen is NOT reserved but the only way to get Guenhwyvar is to use special letters sadly.

Yup, sorry Its cause its copy-writed by the author just like Drizzt the actual name someone may want for a character is.

shouldnt be able to copy right a name...
as you saw my first kitteh was name Guenhwyvar...
and you cant name anything with Mr(insert here) even with out the dot, just says its automatically reserved, i wanted to name my ghostcrawler "MrClickers" and i couldnt so i tried other names, anything with Mr is a no go =(

You CAN copy-right a name if it is a character/name you created - thus Guenhwyvar is property of R.A Salvatore

Sam, I was trying to name my cat from Ulduar that awhile ago. ;-; I got the name it translates to though: Gwynevere.

I went with Guenwyvar. Usually I'm not a fan of changing names, but I really couldn't find a better one (and didn't want to choose yet another magic-The Gathering legendary name
