Pet Health Issues?
I know that typically when you dismount, your pet's health goes way down then skips up to full. It's annoying - especially in PVP situations - but expected right now. Is anyone noticing this getting exaggerated lately?
I spent a lot of time out of combat, in the auction house, cooking, in Dalaran. Then I flew to Argent Tournament. When I landed, I hopped on my griffin and flew over to the Alliance tent. As I stood in the tent, turning in some quests, I realized that my warp stalker, Misfit, was still at 1/2 health. I wasn't in BM spec, so no Spirit Bond action. But still, the dismount "issue" usually corrects itself in full, rather than requiring the pet to regenerate health at the normal "out of combat" rate.
Anyone else experience this?

Re: Pet Health Issues?
It happens. Not just to our pets, but to DK ghouls and warlock pets as well, if I recall. If you are in combat when you dismount, your pet's health will not "bounce back" up to where it should be from its base amount, and you'll need a quick Mend Pet to help your pet out. It's very possible that while at the Tourney, you were put in combat by one of the Valiants or Champions as you dismounted, resulting in the lack of fast recovery on your warpstalker. That tends to happen a lot up there, given that the jousting NPCs seem to have a rather large "in-combat" zone around them.

Its possible you grabbed aggro off a flying mob on the way to the tourny grounds too, sometimes it sticks >.<
Lil, What does beast lore say about its armor rating?

ITS OVER 9000!!!!
Re: Pet Health Issues?
Sometimes you don't have to have aggro while dismounting, though it's not as rampant as when Growl and Cower were still undeniably broken and unreliable, it has toned down but yeah. Zoning, porting, hearthing and dismounting, not always while in combat mind you, would force the pet to not take full health, from stam buff from you, the first tier talents, or the second tier talents.
The bug is still there because I don't think they fixed the originator of the cause; IE pet talents turning themselves on or off, as it happens when you stable a pet, especially with CSP, or the fact that even -before- this, the +stam+power talent wouldn't always work or take affect for the pet. Sometimes taking an hour to finally kick into.
It was usually alright in dungeons atleast, but only 45-85% of the time.
And also yeah it does happen to warlock pets- not noticed on my DK, but has happened a few times for Zeldei. But the difference is?
My Warlock, aslong as it's not groups of unfearable mobs, mostly undead... can usually make short work of them by himself.
and you know so many talents and abilities that improve the pet dmg negation and his own anyways *coughcough*

Happens to me a lot, actually. Most of the time it at least fills up to the point before his talents kick in (like 12,000/14,000), but every once in a while it'll get stuck at about 6.5k and I have to Mend Pet to get it back up. It's very annoying, but oh well.

I know I wasn't "in combat". I paid to fly to the tournament (therefore no aggro grabbing there) and as soon as I landed, hopped on my griffin (can't mount in combat) and flew immediately to the alliance tent. My portrait turns red if I have aggro (I use Spartan UI) so there had been no aggro gain that I could tell.
I think it was just a glitch of getting stuck, as someone said, right around that 6.5k mark. Mend Pet will fix that, of course, I had just never seen it get "stuck" before. I was aware of the mounting/dismounting issue which is also affected by hearthing/porting and even just summoning the pet at times. Usually though, they just spring back fairly quickly.
Thanks for letting me know that this happens sometimes, I'm not just crazy!
