Just a little PVP pet heads up for some peeps
I had been trying to find a good pvp pet for a while and am really happy with my Chimaera (spelling?) He has a 5 sec stun with a 7 sec cooldown. So basically this with concussive shot and you can keep someone snared to 50% movement permanently. I'm sure many know about this, hoping to help out peeps that are looking for a good snaring pet as I was. I just took me a while to test with spiders and such until I found the chimaera...
Re: Just a little PVP pet heads up for some peeps
I think you mean a slow, not a stun. Also, the ability I think you're speaking of, Frost Breath, has a 10 second base cooldown that drops to 7 sec because of the Beast Mastery talent Longevity. You also don't need to use this if you can use Concussive Shot because Concussive Shot slows them for 6 seconds and has a 5 second cooldown so you could keep someone slowed indefinitely. All Frost Breath and other slows do is allow you to use Concussive Shot less, saving you global cooldowns that could be used on other abilities.

He's not trolling, just happy that he found a good pvp pet. :/
I like chimaeras a lot too for pvp, splacker. I'm also a big fan of crocs and their Ankle Bite ability, which reduces speed by 50%. I also like the fact that they're tenacity, meaning they have some bulk that will keep them alive. Maybe it's just my bad luck or maybe my battle group is full of assholes, but it seems like people target hunter pets pretty often, and finding a safe spot for long enough to cast revive pet is a pain.
Which chimaera did you go with, anyway? Mine's the gold outland model.

I always find if people are going after my pet, it's a last ditch effort and they've given up trying to go after me

Re: Just a little PVP pet heads up for some peeps
If I pvp'd with one it would never be any but the Razza. That probably makes me predictable but with the higher quality model for it now and the sleek white & blue, it is omg so gorgeous and sleek. The other ones have a lot of character though, especially if they match your toon. Like I LOVE the green one for little gobbies, so cute.

Aye, there's a difference between trolling and saying something different than what you mean.

Re: Just a little PVP pet heads up for some peeps
Using Nuramoc and loving it. Had him a long time ago and had to let him go due to small stable sizes and was able to pick him up again. Sorry if some of my verbage is skewed (or my brain for that matter), man we got some tuffies in here! Just posted because I was just surprised at how effective he was at snaring. Kinda reminds me of the old DAOC days with my enchanter lol. I'm gonna try a croc and see if the additional toughness outweighs mobility. Speaking of mobility is there any reason to get the second point if you have already reduced the cooldown of dash/dive to less than the duration?

Re: Just a little PVP pet heads up for some peeps
First post just to mention the awesome Crockalisk.
The problem with a Chimaera in my opinion is that its an exotic pet and beast mastery for PvP is not that good. The crockalisk offers you the same ability only the melee version instead of the chimaeras ranged blast. However this is more then balanced out with Crockalisks being Tenacity wich offers you the intervene ability wich can be a live saver.
Having said that i do feel that hunters have enough tools as it is to close on in their mark. I myself prefer my pet to be able to do some sort of cc like Web (Spider, Silithid), stun (ravager, shale spider, wasp) or disorient (monkey) because not only do those abilities work as gap closers they also work wonders as "get out of jail free" cards or they help you chain cc's.
Just my 2c's ofc =)

Re: Just a little PVP pet heads up for some peeps
Yah, my oldest pet is my chimaera, and I love him. He's the OL blue/white--Lord Lakmaeran, an old raid boss--and always has been excellent for PvP.
Incidentally, Antroplasm, BM is *great* for PvP. It's got great burst and good survivabillity, only lacking the silence that MM has really. Oh, and a side note--you can still get a ranged snare as non-BM, via Warp Stalker pets. It's applied from range, although it doesn't last as long as the melee-applied Crocolisk one.
All in all, though, I prefer roots to snares right now--simply because druids can't shift out

Re: Just a little PVP pet heads up for some peeps
Personally I'm part of the minority of hunters who prefer a bird of prey for pvp. I guess I just like having that ace up my sleeve for when the rest of my slows and snares fail. Sometimes you just can't get away from someone, or there's more melee on you then you have tools for, so being able to take away their sting in such a situation is invaluable. And of course the kicker: it works on other hunters
